If you wish to have a place different from the crowded hotels on the coast, you must go there.
The place is located in the mountains within a lost traditional village, and is super charming. David are Marieke are wonderful hosts, and are always giving great tips to visit the surroundings. Special mention to the gin bar, which enlightened our evenings.

We stayed for 5 days with David & Marieke, who run this conversion of 3 old village houses into 9 apartments. The accommodation is of a very high quality in terms of finishing and space. David & Marieke are a great combination of professionalism & genuine friendliness, & are both fun and informative in equal measure. The gin bar was a valuable asset. Highly recommended.

Soggiorno perfetto! Ideale anche per famiglia con bimbi piccoli per l’accoglienza, la disponibilità, l’aria aperta, la vicinanza della spiaggia di kalamaki. Colazione ottima, pulizia frequente, posizione ricercata. Camere stupende, pulite, arredare con mobili di pregio, molto funzionali.

Staying at the Merchant’s House is a unique experience. The hotel is wonderfully located in Corfu’s oldest village, with 5 traditional and lovely tavernas on its doorstep. The rooms are beautifully decorated with loads of unique artifacts and memorabilia. Beds are comfy, bathrooms spotless and modern and the garden offers various spots to sit and view the amazing scenery. But what makes the hotel truly outstanding is the presence of Marieke and David. From
The moment you wake up in the morning and they serve breakfast, the time they take to tell you more about the village and the region to the evening when they set up the “Gin Bike” or offer advice where to eat (hint:all tavernas are great…), they make this hotel exceptional.
We loved the breakfasts, lovely yogurt with home made granola and fruits, home made amazing bread and two types of lovely egg dishes. We loved the evening we had GTs and chatted with other guests. We loved every moment here and will for sure be back one day.

Amazing place. We had a wonderful time here. Hosts are lovely, breakfast is superb, tavernas nearby are delicious, sky is full of stars at night and hiking trail is just around the corner.

The Merchant's House is a real gem. Located in the heart of Old Perithia it is a fabulous location not only for exploring the village but also for hikes and adventures to the coast. But the real highlights are the wonderful welcome and care from David and Marieke, the fabulously restored and decorated high quality rooms with incredible attention to detail not to forget the delicious breakfasts. We spent 3 nights there in June which were absolutely delightful. We will definitely be going back.

We had two wonderful nights at the very beautiful Merchant’s House as we neared the end of hiking the Corfu Trail.
Following an arduous but rewarding stage, the village of Old Perithia came into view, and we stumbled into a little bit of paradise.
We were welcomed by David and Marieke, who have created a perfect calm, relaxing and comfortable boutique hotel in simply stunning surroundings.
The rooms are individually and tastefully styled. The outside seating area offers views of the dramatic scenery all around.
David set up his unique gin bar in the early evening, which was a welcoming surprise.
Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Home baked bread, home made preserves and granola. We were too full to try the eggs!
A perfect treat toward the end of our holiday.

Ganz toll dort und super angenehm.
Urlaub der anderen Art!
Ganz liebe Gastgeber und tolle Zimmer...
Frühstück toll und individuell, kein 0815 Hotel.
Schöne Terrasse zum verweilen und man hat die Möglichkeit sich Getränke zu nehmen und bei der Abreise zu bezahlen. Gin Bier etc.
Mitten in den Bergen, Fußweg zum Pantokrator 1:45ca.
Super Tavernen direkt vor Ort, wir möchten Evdokia!

The most beautiful place ! Rustic cozy place in a lovely historical village amongst local tavernas and hiking trails. The owners Marieke and David are just so wonderful! Make you feel so welcome, even picked me up from the beach one day! They make the best breakfasts and help with anything ! Rooms are quaint and beds super comfortable ! Love this place
