HOTEL OLYMPIA

Bellissima vacanza! Un grande grazie a tutto lo staff

A lovely hotel situated quite high up the arabba valley, great views over the rest of the town.

Location:
While the hotel is a 10 minute walk from the centre of arabba, there is a ski locker right at the base of the local chair lift. These have heated boot warmers for 3 pairs of boots and room for the skis. (There were some bigger lockers for different room setups I assume)

Food:
Breakfast was a buffet with a spread of cold meats and cheeses, cereals, cakes, bread, spreads etc as well as bacon, scrambled and boiled eggs. Tea (mostly Twinnings) and coffee were included.

This was generally good, but didn't change during the week, a rotation of different cooked breakfast options would have been nice.

Dinner was a 4 course meal with 3 of them having options to choose from the night before. (See attached photos for some example menus) The food was plentiful enough to fill hungry skiers and was generally pretty good with some interesting combinations. The food on their wednesday local night was particularly good.

There was also a set of 'welcome' drinks and canapes on Monday evening.

Staff/Service:
The staff were generally all friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be that the cleaners need to give more notice before entering your room to clean it!

Rooms:
Generally good, built properly instead of just trying to look fancy. Ours had a double/Austrian twin and a single bed; mattresses were firm but comfy, just what you need after a day of skiing.

The room also had a table with chairs, wardrobe and a safe (uses a key). The room also had a functioning TV.

The bathroom was fine, although the seals on the shower probably needed replacing. Towels were replaced regularly.

Misc:
WiFi was fine, faster than my home internet.
No sky sports etc, so limited ability to watch live sports.
Hotel has a cute cat!

Vado in questo albergo da anni e mi sono trovata sempre benissimo. Con mio marito ci torniamo ogni volta che possiamo. È molto comodo per sciare, in quanto il deposito sci è a due passi dagli impianti ed è raggiungibile a piedi. E trovare gli scarponi caldi è molto piacevole. La mezza pensione è ottima. Si mangia benissimo e la cantina vini è fornita di vini ben selezionati, con un ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo. Adoro la spa panoramica in cui spesso mi sono trovata da sola ad ammirare le Dolomiti nell’acqua fumante e con intorno la neve. Nel corso degli anni ho visto continui miglioramenti e continueremo a tornarci.

Jezdíme zde už více než patnáct let a už nikam jinam se nám už nechce. Je tady vše co potřebujete na zimní dovolenou. Vynikající kuchyně, milá obsluha, vstřícní majitelé a skvělá lyžovala. Doporučujeme.

Wir waren diese Woche (Februar 2024) im Hotel Olympia zu Gast und verbrachten dort unseren Ski Urlaub für 7 Tage. Mein Freund und sein Vater kommen außerdem schon viele Jahre jeden Sommer ins Hotel Olympia zum Motorrad Urlaub. Das Hotel verfügt über ein Haupthaus, in dem auch die Rezeption und das Restaurant untergebracht ist, dort hatten wir unsere Zimmer. Außerdem gibt es noch Panorama Apartments im Haus darüber, bei denen man ebenfalls Halbpension oder nach Wunsch Selbstverpflegung wählen kann. Wir als Hotelgäste hatten Halbpension und waren damit auch sehr zufrieden. Das Frühstück ist völlig in Ordnung, es gibt von Eiern, Speck, Kuchen über Brötchen und italienische Wurst und Käse oder Joghurt alles was man sich wünscht. Schade ist, dass es Kaffee nur aus zwei Automaten gibt, in Italien würde man gerne einen guten Kaffee aus einer richtigen Maschine trinken, einziges Manko beim Frühstück. Fürs Abendessen (5 Gänge) wählt man am Morgen die Speisen aus, 1. Gang ist Salat Buffet, der Rest wird serviert - alles sehr lecker und freundliches, Junges Personal beim bedienen. Preis Leistung für Übernachtung mit Essen ist im Vergleich sehr fair. Das Hotel liegt am Hang in Arabba in ruhiger Lage und verfügt über einen kleinen Wellnessbereich mit Whirlpool, Sauna und Ruheraum. Die Zimmer sind in Ordnung, man muss aber sagen dass alles etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist und teilweise renoviert werden sollte. Kleinigkeiten wie, dass lange kein warmes Wasser beim duschen kommt können vorkommen. Großes Plus: das Hotel verfügt über ein Skidepot direkt am Skilift, was toll ist, weil man so nicht alles täglich mit schleppen muss. Die Gastgeber-Familie ist recht freundlich und Parkplätze am Hotel stehen zur Verfügung. Die Hausherrin, Katze Kitty hat an der Rezeption alles im Griff und begrüßt die Gäste immer sehr freundlich :-) kommen gerne wieder nach Arabba.
