Le restaurant de Chalon, on a eu des vrais hors d’œuvres (pas de vulgaire cacahouète), et la qualité et la quantité sont aux rendez vous.

Wow! What a lovely restaurant. The food here is is very "French" so wonderful if you're a gourmet, but don't bother coming here looking for pizza and chicken nuggets. We had oysters and moules farcies, which were fantastic, followed by the sole which was done to perfection. Probably the best part of the meal were the potatoes - I've never had such delicious potatoes in my life! We were the only British people there on a Saturday night, with all the other customers being local French. Also, you need to book for Fridays and Saturdays, but the service was excellent despite the restaurant being full. This is a great restaurant if you want to enjoy spending a couple of hours relaxing and enjoying your dinner. If you're after a fast "in and out" meal then you should probably look elsewhere. In conclusion, one of the best "properly French" restaurants I've been too. Shame that there are so few now left in France.
