Amazing dive center! Michael and his team provide impeccable service— from picking out weights, changing over tanks, to guiding divers through the pristine reefs and spotting even the smallest organisms—Afro Divers goes above and beyond to make your dive experience a terrific one. It’s also worth noting that the equipment they have is new and in great condition. I highly recommend Afro Divers to anyone looking for a dive center in Zanzibar (if you’re going to dive in Zanzibar, go to Pemba!!)

Duiken met Afro Divers is echt een feestje. Ze zijn gevestigd op een bijzonder mooie plek en runnen de duikschool met veel passie & plezier. Michael, Carlotta en de gehele (lokale) crew doen er alles aan om jou een topdag op & in het water te bezorgen. Iedere duiker is op zoek naar die ene plek waar je nog bijzondere dingen kunt vinden, dit is echt zo’n plek. Check ook even hun instagram (Afrodivers) voor prachtige plaatjes.
Op pad met de boot en tussen het duiken door koffie met pannenkoeken & fruit op een prachtig verlaten strandje, de een nog mooier dan de ander. Echt een toffe ervaring :D
Spullen zijn dik voor mekaar en uiteraard veiligheid voorop. Echt een aanrader om deze unieke plek te bezoeken, ook prima te combineren met safari’s in Tanzania. Wij gaan zeker terug :)

Super Tauchbasis!! Haben jede einzelne Minute unserer 8 Tauchtage genossen. Michael und Schaffi sind herausragende Guides, die Tauchplätze ein Traum, Equipment und Boot sind in einem sehr guten Zustand, die Basis sehr gut organisiert. Man muss sich um nichts kümmern, alles wird einem zuverlässig abgenommen. Es wird auf alle Wünsche eingegangen, selbst eine Leiter, um bequem nach den Tauchgängen wieder aufs Zodiac zu gelangen, wurde für uns organisiert Die unglaublichen Unterwasserfotos von Carlotta sind tagesaktuell.

We absolutely loved our experience with Afro Divers! They are super professional, have possibly the most beautiful dive centre we have ever been to, have fantastic equiptment, and access to the healthiest reefs we have ever seen!
Carlotta, Michael, Shafi, and the team from the dive center were absolutely amazing! Shafi was our dive guide for the week and he was fantastic, attentive, and amazing at spotting different marine life. He was an absolutely fantastic dive guide! Carlotta and Michael were also great at coordinating not only the dives but also helping us plan other things in Pemba. It was great to get these local insights.
Last but definitely not least, Carlotta was instrumental in organizing our wider trip in Tanzania, liaising with other tour companies and helping us organize the most incredible safari experience that culminated in a dreamy proposal. She was tireless, always responded quickly and managed to save us money even when requesting things last minute.
All around incredible experience and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to visit Tanzania, for diving or otherwise. We will definitely be coming back ????

Great diving, the instructors are fantastic, the coral is some of the best I’ve seen.

Possibilité de passer son PADI et de plonger par petit groupe de niveau
Equipement au top, notamment un nouveau modèle de gilet qui donne une stabilité idéale sous l'eau
Les fonds marin sont sublimes, allez jeter un oeil à leur compte instagram
Mickael est super comme diving instructor
Carlotta immortalisera les récifs et ses occupants lors de vos plongées
Et un autre diving master dont je ne veux pas écorcher le prénom a un vrai talent pour repérer les espèces discrètes/camouflées
Bref je recommande les yeux fermés ++

Super club de plongée. Caché dans un petit paradis. Les plongées sont exceptionnels et on se sent très en sécurité dans l'encadrement. Rien à redire par rapport aux commentaires précédents. Merci !

Mike, Carlotta and Shafii were professional and positive throughout, even when there were challenges (like with the hotel, below). One thing we were particularly impressed by was the safety focus. Having had some bad experiences at other dive centres, it was great to see that no corners were cut at Afro Divers. Everyone got a dive computer too, which was very reassuring and not something I've seen at many other dive centres globally.
Regarding the diving itself: we didn't see big fish/sharks etc. But the reefs themselves are the healthiest we've seen in many years. Was a real pleasure to see corals in such good condition, plus some colourful displays of the reef fish. Big wall diving was also great - and again, Shaffi/Mike always gave us a thorough breakdown of the current and tides before we dropped in so you always knew what you were doing. No wasted air meant more time for scuba ????
Note: Pemba Paradise (the hotel that Afro Divers booked for us) cancelled less than 48 hours before we arrived. Afro Divers worked hard to fix it, but there are very few alternative options available in the area. Either very cheap or very expensive. Apparently it's not the first time Pemba Paradise has done this too. Something to consider when booking.

I dived with Michael and Charlotta in the beginning of June this year and had an absolutely amazing time! The diving was beautiful and I felt very save and good taken care of the entire time, even as someone who hadn’t dived for two years. I can very much recommend to dive with Afro divers!

I would highly recommend diving with Afro Divers! My best diving experience so far. I had 12 dives previously and was thinking diving may just not be for me, but Michael really helped me with my breathing technique and buoyancy and I feel so much more comfortable underwater. The coral and schools of fish were beautiful this side. I dived in Zanzibar and was quite disappointed and highly recommend going to Pemba island for diving instead. Stopped at some cool beaches and the sandbank in between the 2 dives as well! Carlotta was super helpful as well in booking everything for me. She sorted out my transfer from airport to hotel, my hotel and transfers to dives (booked all together with Afro Divers). When I was there she gave me great food recommendations and arranged a guide to bring me to a spice farm prior to going to the airport.

Afro Divers is a terrific group! We dived with them for 4 days. The organization is first rate! Michael is very kind, knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. Sephi is calm, very helpful and spots all sorts of treasures. The dives are well organized, the travel time to sites is quick and fun in a RIB speedboat, safety stops are on beautiful beaches with snacks. Friendly Carlotta handles all arrangements for everyone promptly and efficiently.
Then there are the dives themselves. OMG! The most diverse coral reefs I’ve ever seen with a jaw-dropping number of colorful soft corals. And the FISH. So many! So many different kinds! Schools and schools!

Afro Divers sont vraiment les meilleurs !!! J'ai plongé dans beaucoup d'endroits et c'était vraiment une des plus belles expériences de ma vie! Je recommande les yeux fermés de venir plonger avec le super staff d'Afro :) Michael et Carlotta sont vraiment adorables et très pro. Tout le staff est hyper pro et super cool! Les spots de plongée sont fantastiques, les coraux bien en vie et très coloré. Beaucoup de poissons tropicaux. Et avec un peu de chance (comme nous) vous pourrez croiser les dauphins en chemin, incroyable! Notre meilleur moment du voyage à Zanzibar. Pemba est une île merveilleuse et très loin du tourisme de masse de Zanzi. Foncez voir Afro Divers pour vivre un moment exceptionnel ;)

I recently had the opportunity to go diving with Afro Divers in Pemba, Tanzania and it was an incredible experience. The owner, Michael, was an exceptional guide, knowledgeable and passionate about the local marine life. He went above and beyond to ensure that all of our dives were safe and enjoyable.
The diving itself was fantastic, with crystal-clear waters and abundant marine life. I was able to see a wide variety of fish and coral. The dive sites were well-chosen, with plenty of interesting features to explore.
In addition to the great diving, Afro Divers provided excellent equipment and support, making the whole experience seamless and stress-free. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and I felt well taken care of throughout my time with the company.
Overall, I would highly recommend Afro Divers to anyone looking for an exceptional diving experience in Pemba.

Ne cherchez pas un autre centre de plongée que Afro divers : c’est le top à Pemba !
Les sites sont préservés : coraux et faune magnifiques ! Amateurs de couleurs, vous en aurez plein les yeux.
Michael et Carlotta sont adorables , ils cherchent en permanence les meilleures conditions pour plonger.
Ceux sont de vrais pro ainsi que Shafi.
Vous plongerez en toute sécurité avec un matériel au top.
Laissez vous faire , tout est prêt et préparé
par le capitaine du bateau et ses acolytes.
Ils sont aux petits soins pour que votre plongée soit réussie.
Vous ferez un stop entre 2 plongées sur une petite plage chaque jour différente où vous serez seuls et dégusterez les crêpes maison de Carlotta.
Nous devions plonger tous les 2 jours, nous avons plongé tous les jours….!

Everything was beyond easy, from booking to airport transport, hotel reservations and of course, the dive package. The water was cold but the corals were ✨beautiful✨ .
Definitely worth the voyage to experience at least once in your lifetime.
