Beautiful property on Pingway beach. Walking distance to the Rock. The hosts are very helpful.

We only stayed at Hekaya for a short amount of time (unfortunately) but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room is really pretty, big and clean. The staff is extremely friendly and polite and always available for help. The service at this hotel is simply outstanding - our room was cleaned whilst we were at breakfast, in the evening a lady would come to spray anti-mosquito spray in our room and close the curtains. The Masai also were on the premises to provide security, although we felt super safe in this lovely place at all times anyway. Gardener John takes care of all kinds of plants in the facility and was happy to give us a little tour of his work. The chef, Moses, is truly amazing - the food was incredibly good, we even had extra lunch there because of how good the food was rather than actually being that hungry.
On our last evening, the staff prepared a candle light dinner for us including a bottle of sparkling wine, as our stay was part of our honeymoon. Our stay at Hekaya sincerely was the perfect ending to our honeymoon and we are very grateful for being able to stay there.
There are also multiple trips you can do from there - we went on a snorkeling trip to blue lagoon and a star fish area which was another incredible experience.
The hotel isn't big which results in a really calm and relaxing atmosphere. There wasn't a single thing that we think needs any change.
Certainly one of the best hotels we ever stayed at!
We hope to be back some day and then will definitely stay longer.

Eine Woche unserer Flitterwochen verbrachten wir auf Sansibar in diesem traumhaften Hotel; wobei traumhaft fast schon untertrieben ist.
Das Hotel (lediglich fünf Zimmer) ist das schönste Hotel, in dem wir je waren!

Hier steckt die Liebe in jedem kleinen Detail. Eine tolle Anlage, die hervorragend vom Gärtner John gepflegt wird. Voller Stolz zeigt auch John jedem Gast hier die Pflanzen der Anlage! Traumhaft. Eine schöne Bar und ein kleiner, aber feiner Pool rundet die Anlage ab.

Vom Balkon, auf dem das Frühstück (frische Obstteller, Omelette, Pan cakes und und und) serviert wird, schaut man in die Weiten des blauen Ozeans!

Ein weiteres Highlight ist vor allem das Abendessen: frisches 3-Gänge-Menü, oft mit Fisch und frischem Gemüse! Einfach perfekt!!!

Aber was beim Flair dieser Trauminsel mit am besten ist, sind die tollen, freundlichen, hilfsbereiten und gutgelaunten Mitarbeiter des Hotels! Einfach grandios!

Aus absoluter Überzeugung können wir jedem dieses Hotel von Herzen empfehlen!

Precioso hotel con muchísimo encanto en un entorno idílico. Yaki nos hizo una bienvenida magnífica, es un amor! Y todo el staff un 10, nuestro amigo Diswa tuvo mucha paciencia con mis hijos… un encanto de chico!
La habitación a un paso de la playa, la piscina, el espacio de comidas… fabuloso! La comid muy rica (porciones XL). Cerca de la playa está un centro de buceo, restaurantes, el famoso The Rock y se puede hacer un buen snorkel en barco.
Recomiendo este lugar 100%

This place really lived up to our expectations. We had the most unforgettable honeymoon we could wish for, thanks to the personal touches of the amazing Hekaya-staff. Godfrey and Jaqueline gave us a warm welcome, John showed us all of the beautiful plants and flowers in the lovely garden and the men behind the bar served us the best cocktails & food and really made us feel very special. The rooms were cleaned daily, very neatly, and every dish that came out of the kitchen tasted delicious! Staying here really feels like you're in a special piece of paradise.
The hotel is situated on a more quiet part of Zanzibar. But it offers many activities around the island that you can book last-minute. Also, you can easily take a taxi to visit the more touristy places like Paje or Jambiani, for shopping or activities like kitesurfing. Would 100% come here again.
