NEW ORLEANS MARRIOTT METAIRIE AT LAKEWAY ^{* * *}

This is a beautiful hotel with easy access and friendly service.

Never stayed here but. MARDI GRASSSSS

Room was excellent, service was excellent... Bed was a little.... Worn out... For lack of better terms.

Good location if you need to go east to the gulf.

Paid extra for a “Lake View”. It wasn’t (see photo), and when I went I asked about the mistake was told if I went up to the window and looked far left you can see the corner of the lake, which apparently Marriott felt is worth charging people money for.

The hotel is in very rough shape- duct tape is holding some of the carpet down in the hallways and there is hardened gum stuck to the carpet on the elevators. The furniture in the room is in similar condition. I wouldn’t go so far as to call it a dump, but there have definitely been nicer 2 star hotels I have stayed in, and had it not been after 10:00pm when we checked in I would have left and stayed at the holiday inn nearby. Apparently the hotel is about to undergo a major renovation, unfortunately they’re still charging people as if it’s a 4 star hotel, which it definitely isn’t.

In the past I’ve gone out of my way to stay at Marriott properties, now I’ll go out of my way to avoid them.
