If you romanticize the idea of a tented Safari of the first African pioneers and explorers but with the comforts and standards of a luxurious and exclusive modern facility, then Nkasa Lupala is the place you’re looking for. Amazing and friendly staff and service. The Safari was a great experience and we saw a leopard and hyenas during our drive. We also had a group of elephants living in the lodge area during our stay. Definitely strongly recommended if you’re traveling to north of Namibia!

Think twice. Photos lie. The tents are small, you get single uncomfortable beds. Everything sadly needs maintenance. Service was poor. Only after complaining staff were replaced with back up staff and service did improve.

When we got back from our morning game and boat rides we went for lunch. Only to be told there was no lunch as 'they', the staff, forgot to ask us at breakfast what we wanted.

The only positive was the game drives and river (listed as a river) but a wider opening in the swamps.

All up far from luxury, heard the word rustic being used? Maybe rustic with a little imagination.

Only a fan set far from the bed for ventilation / cooling at night. Put the mosquito net down and no air at all. March is still very hot and steamy.

Late April into May onwards it is very dry and dusty we were informed.
