I have been to the hostel many times in October and loved it and the friendly and easy going way of Uli the manager. It's a special place. This was the first time I had been back since covid and I felt there were changes around the town. It has become more built up and the age profile in town and in the hostel was definitely older than before. The hostel has always been a mix of ages and let's say the older people are mostly young at heart (like myself!) So I found the atmosphere in town and hostel less influenced by the younger backpacker vibe which made me a bit sad. I hope it was just a freak circumstance and not a trend as it seems young peoples lives have been affected more than the older and more well set from the global problems of the last few years. Anyway, after all that, it's nice to say the hostel remains a beacon of welcome and generosity even as the world around it changes.

An unreal hostel. I met more people who extended their stay before checking in then who didn't extend. It's this kind of extraordinary atmosphere at the end of the world, people felt completely comfortable leaving their phones unattended for hours on end. The hostel is the best version of a hostel like it: the most relaxed hostel you'll ever see that sometimes (maybe twice a week) goes kinda nuts and people will be drinking wine by the liter but normally it's calm and by no means a party hostel but super social.

Bravo to Uli, the boss man, for creating a space that I didn't really believe could exist.
Of course of you're tired of beaches mileage may vary but it's the warmest and most comfortable (vibe wise, facilities are good not great) hostel I've ever stayed at. The kitchen and dorms get the job done but nothing more, the hammocks and roofs are wonderful.

Stay here if you're at all curious, pass if you're not looking to hang out at beaches or on hikes.

Truly a magical place with an atmosphere that is unmatched in comparison to any other hostel I have stayed in. It’s more of a community than a hostel, as many guests will stay for weeks or even months. If you want to go explore the surrounding area, chill in the hammocks and read a book, or drink wine and party with the other guests, you can do it all here. Made some great friends staying here even though the crowd is very mixed in terms of age. Would highly recommend staying here for at least a couple days!
