We’ve stayed at Tortuga a few times over the years and it is always a pleasant one. Very clean, plenty of amenities, and friendly service. I can’t give 5 stars though because on our last visit our room, 162, was next to the second pool and smelled overwhelmingly of strong chlorine our entire stay. We mentioned it to the hotel manager immediately upon checking in. She told us she couldnt move us because she was “pretty sure they didn’t have other rooms” (the sign said vacancy) and sent a maintenance person that admitted to us they can’t even smell chlorine anymore. We lived- but It would have been nice if the manager had checked in herself. Also, there was no follow up from her.
I do recommend staying here but try to get a room away from inner pool, and don’t expect much from staff.
