Une disponibilité de patrick pour les execursions avec pleins d’explications très intéressantes. Une douche a ciel ouvert très belle ainsi que des chambres couleurs locales très bien.
Lors des excursions proposées par Patrick nous avons pu observer les requins, les raies manta/pastenagues ainsi que de beaux coraux et une grande variété de poissons
Bref un séjour à faire et à conseiller

Le motu est un endroit paradisiaque, aménagé avec goût par Patrick et Evaline. Les journées sont rythmées entre balade sur l’ensemble de motus, snorkeling/kayak/paddle dans le lagon poissonneux et les excursions proposées tous les matins par Patrick pour découvrir Tikehau. Le silence règne sur l’île et les hôtes ne sont pas bavards, ce qui peut être un peu déroutant parfois (très différent de toutes nos aventures polynésiennes) mais si vous posez des questions ils vous dévoileront tous les secrets de l’île (avec une approche scientifique !). Les 3 chiens qui gardent l’île sont adorables. Pour résumer, si vous recherchez du calme dans un endroit idyllique, c’est un endroit idéal ! Merci pour l’accueil et bonne continuation :).

We have been to French Polynesia 4 times in the past 8 years. I can confidently say that the Fafarua private island lodge ranks as one of top two places we’ve been to. A large part of that has to do with the hospitality and professionalism of the owner, Patrick, and his family. They were very attentive and made sure we were enjoying ourselves at all times, from breakfast to midnight excursions to spot the elusive coconut crabs. The daily morning excursions were wonderful, especially the visits to the snorkeling spots (the best in Polynesia), Bird Island and remote motus. The lodge itself has very nice snorkeling at the right side, facing the island. It is a bit rustic but very comfortable as we are not generally resort types. The main bedroom is comfortable and the best part was its outdoor shower surrounded by tropical plants. The island is beautiful with great sunsets and with abundant fish life. We plan to come back soon for a longer stay!

Salt air in the lung and sun on the skin - island living at it's finest. Every day started with the ocean and ended with stars, everything in between stitched together with fresh fish, cracked coconuts, and adventure.

Patrick and Vao weren't just hosts - they were storytellers, explorers, stewards of this wild, beautiful corner of the world. They took us through reefs and waves, taught us island history, and how to track coconut crabs by moonlight. We kayaked into silence, snorkeled through living rainbows, hiked where the jungle meets the sea.

There's no AC, no room service - and none of it matters. Comfort here is in the breeze, the swing of the hammock, taste of parrotfish, and the sound of the tide breathing through your dreams.

This place doesn't pamper you - it reminds you you're alive.

J'ai eu la chance de passer une semaine avec ma femme dans cet endroit paradisiaque. Nous avons vécu une véritable parenthèse enchantée. Patrick et Eva nous permettent de vivre une expérience unique : une île pour soi avec un service à la hauteur de cet endroit. Tout était parfait, y compris la cuisine d"Eva. Nous recommandons sans réserve.

Simply put, one of the most memorable experiences in my extensive travel repertoire. The setting is a private motu, so when you book with them, you the entire island for yourself. Perfect for those looking for peace and tranquility.
The hosts, Eva & Patrick are incredible. I thoroughly enjoyed daily boat trips to nearby attractions, snorkeling spots and bird islands. Patrick is full of knowledge about Polynesian culture, history, tradition and landscape itself. Hell gladly share his knowledge with guests. Learned so much just by being there.
Eva is an amazing cook (hint: ask for a coconut pie). There’s kayaks and paddle board on-site for those who want to exercise. Our time at Fafarua was fully customizable so we made our own activity schedule.
I was there 3 times already and I’m 100% I’ll be back again for battery recharge and more Polynesian knowledge. If you plan to visit Tuamotus, Fafarua Lodge is a no-brainer and a must visit destination. Highly recommend!

Absolute 5 star! Thank you Patrick and Evaline for hosting this incredible property. The ultimate holiday home! The description is accurate and the views are even more stunning than the photos! My whole family loved this place and didn’t want to leave. We will definitely back again on our next trip to Tahiti !

Suite à la réponse que vous avez fait à mon beau-fils je me dois de rétablir la vérité.
J'ai 67 ans et la mère de mon beau fils 65 ans et nous sommes en pleine santé.
Nous accompagnions nos jeunes mariés pour partager ce voyage d'exception et les aider à garder notre petite fille qui est délicieuse vous avez raison, afin qu'ils puissent profiter de moments à deux et se retrouver pleinement.
Je ne pense pas que l'on puisse considérer que nous sommes des personnes en fin de vie comme vous le laissez entendre.
Je ne pense pas également que l'âge de vos invités ( bébé ou grand-mères) soient un critère qui justifie un mauvais accueil.
C'est donc quelques heures après avoir pris notre premier repas chez vous, que j'ai présenté des signes s'apparentant à une tourista qui s'est accentuée au fil des jours et qui m'a cloué au lit.
Mon beau fils à également été touché mais moins severement.
On ne peut pas être sûr que l'intoxication provienne de votre cuisine ou de votre système de filtration d'eau de pluie mais j'ai de fortes présomptions surtout après avoir vu l'état de saleté de la cuisine et les aliments laissé à l'air libre ( beurre , lardon et langoustes qui décongelaient à température ambiante et non au frigo).

Concernant Patrick qui est présenté comme le capitaine de bateau du lodge, je précise qu'il en est également le gérant et que sa femme et responsable de la cuisine.
J'en profite pour la remercier pour sa gentillesse de m'avoir preparé du riz, bouillons de legumes et des bananes.
Pour Patrick il en est autrement car je partage le sentiment de mon beau fils, j'avais l'impression de le déranger.
Je me sentais obligée de quémander, rouleau de papier toilettes et autres choses à plusieurs reprises.
Pas de prevenance, pas de compassion, étonnant surtout de la part d'un médecin à la retraite et au vu de mon état.

Patrick doit être proche de mon grand âge d'ailleurs, j'espère que cela n'effraira pas vos potentiels futurs clients vu qu'il est responsable des transferts et autres sorties en bateau.

J'espère en tout cas qu'il saura mieux manœuvrer son bateau que lors de notre retour car effectivement nous ne nous sommes pas senti en sécurité.
Certes il y avait beaucoup de vent et de projection d'eau sur le bateau expliquant pourquoi nous avons demandé de descendre une bache de protection ( qui j'imagine sert lorsque il y a mauvais temps et donc du vent) principalement pour protéger notre petite fille.
En aucun cas mon beau-fils ne l'a fait de sa propre initiative sans l'accord de Patrick.
Nous avons d'ailleurs croisé d'autres embarcation qui avait descendu leur bâches afin de protéger les occupants.

Bref j'ai écrit ces quelques lignes pour rétablir la vérité afin qu'elle puisse, je l'espère, faire réfléchir les futurs voyageurs vu le prix des nuits.

J'ai été très déçu de notre séjour chez Patrick.
Nous avions reservé avec l'espoir d'être chouchouté pour notre lune de miel.
Malheureusement ce fut le contraire, j'ai eu le sentiment de déranger et j'ai trouvé Patrick à la limite de l'impolitesse à plusieurs reprises.
Un hôte ne peut pas se comporter ainsi.
Et ce d'autant moins au vu du prix de la nuit.
J'écris ce commentaire plusieurs mois après notre séjour, de manière apaisé.
J'aurais aimai pouvoir lire ce type de commentaire avant de reserver et utiliser mon argent autrement.

C’est un privilège que de pouvoir partager ce coin de paradis, loin de tout. Merci à Patrick - super guide qui partage son savoir et enrichit les sorties quotidiennes et à Eva, très bonne cuisinière. Nous aurons apprécié chaque moment sur ce magnifique motu.

Our family of 4 had an unforgettable time at Fafarua. We are an active family with pre-teens, and we were all so sad to have to leave after our six day stay. Everyday we fell asleep to the sounds of the ocean just outside our window, and we rose with the sun to a beautiful breakfast spread by Eva, and then we would go about on our daily adventure. Patrick will take you anywhere you like on his boat and he always had excellent recommendations based on our needs and weather for the day. The water is such an unbelievable shade of bright turquoise blue, and the picture-perfect sandy beach is perfect for relaxing. We really enjoyed the (partial) new dock when we were there. It will be stunning upon completion, as some major construction was scheduled to occur the day we left including the addition of wood walkways and paths, sitting areas, and covered outdoor structures. We swam, snorkeled, explored the motus, explored the channels, kayaked, and fished (catch and release) and made memories to last a lifetime. You have your pick of kayaks and standup paddle boards (all in great condition), and beach loungers at your disposal. We spent a majority of our time fishing at various locations on shore or snorkeling in the channels. Having the company of Shadow, Rabat, and Socrates, the resident dogs, on our hiking or snorkeling adventures was an unexpected but welcome treat. The marine life is so abundant that every where you turn you are bound to see a new type of fish or a skittish black-tipped reef shark swim by. We saw stingrays, groupers, trevally, octopus (octopi?), numerous types of fish and a rainbow of healthy coral in water that was clearer than any aquarium. Our kids loved exploring the tide pools and snorkeling the channels, as well as discovering all kinds of wildlife (they were especially fascinated by the hermit crabs and geckos). One evening as the sun was setting we encountered a school of horse mackerel feeding and jumping onto shore, all within easy reach for my kids to catch by hand but of course we returned them to the sea. We did save a few for breakfast the next day, which Eva prepared to perfection for us. On another evening we caught a glimpse of a couple of octopuses in the shallows by the dock, which my son was really excited to witness in the wild for the first time in his life. Fafarua is a perfect place for families looking for active water pursuits, relaxation, or just privacy and a time to disconnect from modern life. Wifi was fast and available if you need it, but why would you when you are in paradise? The villa is roomy and can sleep about 8 people comfortably. The main villa has a sleeping porch, two bedrooms, a butler’s pantry, spacious and comfy fare potee (outdoor lounge) and a dining room with a large dining table, and a spacious outdoor bathroom. In the adjoining building is a master bedroom with a separate entrance, which includes an ensuite and outdoor shower. The beds were comfortable, and the mosquito nets were a necessity when we visited because there were numerous mosquitoes and flies. Thankfully we brought plenty of repellent and they also provided many options for bug repellent if we needed it. Fans are provided, but do not come here expecting air conditioning or sealed windows and doors to keep out any unwelcome critters, which we knew to expect in a tropical destination. The highlight of our stay were our gracious hosts, Patrick and Eva, as well as their loyal canine companions whom we all were happy to shower with love and cuddles as we tremendously missed our own dog at home. We were spoiled by the meals lovingly prepared by Eva, especially her fantastic homemade desserts! Patrick is a fantastic teacher and tour guide, he was a wealth of information and knowledge of everything that the motus and the ocean has to offer. We would not hesitate to come back and truly hope that someday we do, we would love to see the new additions to the already gorgeous property. Tips: bring reef shoes, sun protection, meds/first aid, and plan for seasonal weather!

I think this is the best place my husband and I have visited in the last 17 years of traveling. We saw Fafarua Private Island on a youtube video but the name of the place was not mentioned. I looked until I found it and was so excited to book some time here. The owner Patrick picked us up at the airport with a nice greeting and took us on a ride in their van to a beautiful boat to get us to the island. He took the longer route going close to the shore so that we could see more of Tikehau and it's Moto's. So much beauty. When we arrived Eva and their sweet dogs were there to greet us. The island was very beautiful and welcoming. The house was large with a few bedrooms, kitchen, dining and large living area that had open windows to enjoy the fresh air. The fridge was well stocked with juices, beer and wine. We choose to stay in the added bedroom with it's own private toilet and outdoor shower. We loved the open windows to sleep with the air blowing through and the view that we woke up to. Meals were wonderful. Eva made the best eggs, bread and pancakes, lunch as well as dinner was always fresh fish, veggies etc that was so delicious. Our last night had a farewell barbecue of lobster cooked the traditional way which was very educational. Patrick would talk to us each morning to discuss the weather and gave us choices to where we could take a morning excursion depending on the weather. We went to Bird Island Pink Sand Beach, did not see but went to where the ManaRays were and went snorkeling. Patrick educated us on many things on the islands and made us realize how special Fafarua Private Island is. It was nice to understand how everything works together to make the island livable. I now appreciate the coconut tree more than ever. We loved hearing stories of Patrick and Eva and how they ended up here and what they have done to stay here. You can fill up your day walking, swimming, kayaking or paddle boarding to each moto to explore and snorkel to see all the wonderful, beautiful fish or just relax and enjoy your surroundings and privacy. Our stay at Fafarua Lodge was a wonderful escape to a place of relaxation and magic. Patrick and Evaline looked after all of our needs while giving us time and space to explore the island on our own. From the moment we were picked up at the Tikehau Airport until we were taken back there at the end of our stay we were amazed at the sights, scents and sounds. From watching an amazing sunset on the boat-ride to the island, to fantastic home cooked meals every day, to daily excursions and thousands of stars overhead, it was a magical place. Daily trips to explore the geology of the reef, go birdwatching in the middle of the atoll and go snorkelling amongst the fish were fantastic ways to spend the mornings. After a fresh lunch, the rest of the day was ours to enjoy. We swayed back and forth in hammocks, relaxed on the beach, walked around the island, went snorkelling right off the beach, went out on kayaks and paddleboards. There was always something to do. Bring your camera - stars, the sun, the moon, clouds, palm trees, hermit crabs, offer so many opportunities. We had a fantastic stay.

Une expérience hors du commun et des rencontres que je n'imaginais pas en venant a fararua lodge. Patrick est un véritable puit de science et connait son motu et ses environs comme sa poche. C'est un amoureux de la Polynésie et saura vous faire partager cet amour. Evaline reine de la cuisine , chaque plat présenté est un tableau pour les yeux et une explosion de saveurs pour les papilles. Si vous avez l'occasion de venir en Polynésie c'est l'adresse a ne surtout pas manquer. Pour ma part c'est sur je reviendrai.

Patrick and Eva are wonderful hosts and have thought of every detail. There are hammocks, outdoor dining area, books to read, snorkel equipment, paddle boards, an outdoor swing, palm trees and delicious meals. The have a new boat with cushions and is a comfortable ride. Patrick will take you on an excursion a day. He wants you to enjoy your excursions and is great planning where to go and when to meet for the optimal boat excursion. We went to a great snorkel location. Their motu location is beautiful surrounded by the lagoon and the sea. You have the luxury of being the only people there. No loud music, cars, drones….just the sound of the sea. The meals are delicious. From fresh fruit, salads and delicious fish, and dessert, Eva is an excellent chef. Eva made this banana pie with a light crust it was wonderful! My husband said Eva has spoiled him with her tuna poisson crue. He s right, it was fantastic! He enjoyed every single bite. Our house was spacious had a great breeze and fan too. The shower was beautiful. The snorkeling is excellent there and pretty coral. We had a fantastic time and highly recommend this wonderful paradise with wonderful hosts.

Les hôtes ont été sympathiques et nous avons appris pleins de choses, Patrick connaît très bien son environnement, son motu, l’île aux oiseaux..., les excursions étaient très bien, nous avons vu pleins de belles choses, nous avons pu pêcher à la traîne en bateau.
Nous avons excellemment mangé, les plats typique qu'Eva nous a préparé étaient divin, différents poissons midi et soir, une vraie chef cuisinière!!!

Je garderai de mon séjour, l'image d'un paradis sur terre où le temps s'arrête et tout n'est que bonheur et volupté. Y contribuent, la proximité des éléments, la beauté des paysages, l'absence de bruit hormis celui du vent et de la houle se cassant sur la barrière de corail, la maison ouverte avec un vent traversant, la gentillesse et disponibilité d'Eva et Patrick....
Eva, toujours bienveillante, femme de goût et excellente cuisinière, veillera à satisfaire avec brio vos papilles, mais pas que... elle vous parlera avec passion de la Polynésie, sa culture...
Explorer l'atoll avec Patrick est juste passionnant. Erudit et curieux, il est le meilleur des guides tant par l'étendue de ses connaissances, l'humilité dont il fait preuve dans leur transmission et sa souplesse en adaptant le programme aux attentes de chacun.
J'espère vraiment avoir le plaisir de revenir partager des moments avec eux sur leur petit coin de paradis. Merci à tous les deux pour ce moment magique.

Patrick and Eva have combined a slice of motu life with the experience of Eden. Excursions exploring the flora, fauna, culture, and history of the motu are set in an isolated, heaven-sent paradise. The open-air guest house ushers in tropical breezes and amazing views of sunrise. The sunset over the lagoon followed by the appearance of planets and stars is unforgettable and witnessed completely uninterrupted – no other person, boat, car, plane, train, business, street, or store for miles. There is no stress because Patrick and Eva provide and address all needs. Patrick’s passion for life on the atoll is evident in his excitement in sharing the smallest of details and in how, after twenty plus years, he still becomes awestruck from the beauty, complexity, and balance of creation. Eva’s hospitality is experienced through the perfect meals, the order of the house, and the generous accommodations of food allergies. We shall return.

I don't know where to begin or how to put our experience into words.

To start, the food was beyond incredible. And this was every single meal. There was nothing lacking. Beyond that, there was always plenty of food. Not to forget the deserts, either. Everything food wise was awesome!

Patrick made every single day an adventure. He is knowledgeable, spirited and just a generally good person. If you let Patrick take the lead, and give him an idea of what expectations you have, he'll handle the rest. And when you have a question, just ask. Again, Patrick is knowledgeable and you can learn a lot from him.

Sleeping is comfortable, there are fans to help keep the bugs off, and there are bottles of bug repellent Patrick has strategically placed if they get bad, or you have a night without a breeze.

There are lots of fins / masks / snorkels / etc. All left behind from previous visitors. So if you break anything, usually you can find a replacement.

Anyway, I've kind of lost track. You don't need much here. Sunnscreen (lots), sunglasses, hats, swim suits, sandals and a few long sleeve shirts (to block the sun).

Everything else you need for a good time is there waiting for you. (Don't bring sand to the beach)

We did not want to leave. I could even say I went into a couple week depression after having to return to the real world. And this was after 4 flights there and 4 back (totally worth it).

If you can get here, and like waking up and not having a worry in the world, enjoy sunrise and sunsets with the sound of crashing waves in the distance, give this a try. You will never forget it.
