This review is long overdue. My husband and I stayed here for our 25th wedding anniversary in 2021. First off, if you're into being pampered and are high maintenance, this is not the place for you. If you want to experience the local culture, be secluded and don't require extravagance, this is truly the experience. Also, for those who cut the place down because of an occasional gecko in the room, well then go to the 4 Seasons. They are harmless and stay out of your way. Very cute I may add to wake up and see a little pair of eyes looking down at you. Yes, there is sand on the floor, it gets in your room. You're at a BEACH!. Yes, it can sometimes get in your bed but hey, this is beach life. Wipe it off and enjoy yourself. No AC but every bungalow has a ceiling fan and there is always great breeze flowing. AC not needed, go for a swim.
We arrived late but our transportation was waiting for us. Upon arrival Christine was an enormous help, pointing out all the amenities around the village. Grocery store right across the street (be sure to by your booze before noon on Saturday because from what I remember they don't open or sell liquor on Sundays). Terrific souvenir shop across the street with decent prices. Ditch the Lucky House next door. Arrogant owner who looks down on tourists, stairs at women and has a harem of women working their butts off to wait tables while he scratches his big behind standing around. Mediocre food to say the least. Go to the Bora Bora Beach Club just a few steps further down the road toward Matira Beach. A much better choice. Terrific food and atmosphere. Back to Village T. We upgraded to the bungalow on the beach front. This was right after Covid lockdown so the place was virtually empty. The room was small but it had everything we needed. Big terrace, plus, a little kitchen off to the side with a fridge, microwave etc. For $150 a night this was just fine. Who spends the days in their room anyway? Christophe, although some have said he is unwelcoming, is just doing his job and just very straight forward. Most tourists I get annoyed with too, but he was great. Set us up with all our excursions. A day on the lagoon for ray swimming, shark swimming and a fabulous lunch on a remote motu, all while being serenaded by the tour guide and is Ukulele. Truly an amazing experience and I highly recommend it. Wonderful, picked us up right at the private beach at Village T. Christophe hooked us up with bike and kayak rentals, all for a very decent price. I have to say our 8 day stay at Village Temanuata was amazing. We even had locals singing and playing guitar on the beach (I think it was a holiday or something because they were singing to their mothers) Mother's Day maybe, was simply divine. We read, listened to the waves, drank wine and enjoyed these beautiful voices singing old Polynesian songs. Private beach, small but how much sand does a person need. Complimentary beach chairs and snorkel gear provided by Christophe. He was great! If you want to experience Polynesian culture and don't need the high end experience, you can stay here for days for the price of one night in one of those over water bungalows. Just one thing to be on the lookout thought. Don't leave expensive board shorts drying on the patio at night. I think there are some local kids who go along the beach front looking for a fast grab. My husband had his brand new Quicksilver board shorts stolen. Just be smart as you would in any foreign country. That was the only thing that happened that wasn't so pleasant. Good thing he brought another pair. All in all Village T was a terrific experience and the Tahitian people are very hospitable and welcoming. I hope this helps.

Worth saying that when I booked this I meant to be out diving all day but the weather was bad so I ended up spending more time than planned in hotel. The good points are that the room was spacious, the private beach lovely, it is comparatively cheap and the people seem friendly. The bad points are that the room is tired, things like towels threadbare and generally it needs a total refurbishment. It is also exceptionally noisy on Saturday with music starting around 04.30 and continuing to about 02.00 Sunday

Les + : Village charmant sur un emplacement de rêve, calme en saison creuse. Bien équipé malgré un confort sommaire.
Le
Les s - : Chaleur étouffante à l intérieur du bungalow en janvier.
Mériterait une rénovation.

A fuir
