Room and Facilities:||The room here really impressed us: there’s a sizeable balcony with expansive views of the mountains, a convenient kitchenette where you can make meals, if you so desire, and the room itself is modern and spacious - like a little apartment. They even provided us with salt and pepper when we asked!||Service||On the whole the service here has been really good. It’s not the proactive service that you’d expect in a high end resort, but for its category it’s friendly and relatively warm. The people at reception are especially helpful, we were grateful to be able to use the shower room before we were able to check in. ||One small note is that we asked to use the kayaks at sunset, however we were told you are not able to take them out beyond 1645, which is fair enough. However, the previous evening we saw hotel guests get them out and use them at sunset, but one member of staff insisted otherwise. So, we just left it as to not make a fuss.||Food||This is the main reason why we gave the hotel a 4 and not a 5. For us, the food was average (with the exception of the desserts, which were excellent). We acknowledge French-influenced cuisine is not our favourite, however the food did lack flavour and seasoning. A suggestion perhaps may be to add some Tahitian-Chinese cuisine to the menu, as we’ve learned this is a big part of island food-culture. ||Location||We cannot fault the location at all. It’s perfect. The sunset views from the restaurant are beautiful, there’s the breathtaking backdrop of the mountains and the blues of the lagoon. About a 20 minute walk-away (15 if you’re faster than us) is a small town, where you can visit the local supermarket as well as amenities and restaurants (the casual restaurants are called Snacks - there’s lots of these here.)

Un des plus beaux couchers de soleil sur Morea |Hôtel récent avec des chambres propres et plutôt spacieuses. Nous avions deux chambres côte à côte en famille. La décoration est soignée . Je conseille vivement d’avoir une chambre en étage afin de profiter de la vue|La piscine est très agréable|Le conseil l’apéritif le soir coucher de soleil. le restaurant est une bonne table également|Le petit déjeuner est un peu décevant|La baignade n’est pas très propice mais la piscine est très agréable. Je recommande cet hôtel pour commencer son séjour en Polynesie et récupérer décalage horaire

Nous avions une suite au premier étage avec une superbe vue sur la baie de Cook. Chambre spacieuse avec beaucoup de rangements une climatisation efficace et silencieuse ! une grande terrasse avec table/chaises et transat. Il y a aussi une kitchenette pour faire quelques repas. Nous avons préféré le restaurant de l’hôtel idéalement situé au bout du ponton. Les plats sont biens présentés et goûteux il y a beaucoup de choix. Le ponton permet d’admirer les poissons de récif. La plage de l’hôtel permet de partir faire du snorkeling depuis l’hôtel!
Je recommande.

Quelle belle découverte que L’hôtel Cook’s Bay! Nous ne pouvions espérer mieux pour nos premiers pas en Polynésie ! L’hôtel est cosy, décoré avec goût, une petite touche de modernité tout en sobriété! L’endroit est confortable, la propreté impeccable, la literie de qualité, on s’y sent bien ! Les extérieurs sont agréables, transats, lits de plages et piscine sont sur la même ligne de décoration et invitent à la détente. La carte du restaurant est à l’image de la structure: des produits de qualité, cuisinés tout en finesse et joliment présentés! Mention spéciale pour les rillettes de thon au citron basilic et le mahi-mahi! Pour finir, nous saluons la gentillesse et le dévouement de toute l’équipe, professionnelle, efficace, et souriante ! Bref, nous avons apprécié nos 5 jours passés au Cook’sBay, et nous vous recommandons les yeux fermés cet hôtel chaleureux à taille humaine! Mention spéciale pour Kahaia en formation à l’accueil, une vraie pépite : toujours souriante, à l’écoute, dévouée et empathique… L’accueil polynésien digne de ce nom!

Wonderful boutique hotel, surrounded by the beautiful bay. We loved our stay here, the rooms were comfortable and the beach/pool area were fantastic. The sunset here is simply fantastic! The only area of improvement is the staff. They did not seem to want to be there and seemed annoyed rather than excited.

We stayed at Cooks Bay Hotel in Moorea for just one night between getting off a weeklong catamaran trip and flying home to LA—and our only regret is that we didn’t have more time here! This boutique hotel was so beautiful, welcoming, and so thoughtfully designed for families. ||Our room was perfect for our family of four — there was a comfy bed in one room and a sofa bed in the living room which also had a kitchenette and mini fridge. The space was modern, clean, and functional, with island charm. Our room opened up to the patio which led to the pool. ||Dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, Le Cook’s Bar & Restaurant, was a highlight. The restaurant is set at the end of a footbridge over the water with the most stunning views of Cook’s Bay, dramatic peaks, and the Teavaroa Pass. There was live music the night we were there, which made it feel extra special. The next morning, we grabbed breakfast nearby and enjoyed it on our patio - it was such a nice way to start the day.||Our kids had the best time in the pool, and enjoyed lounging in the beachside cabanas. We also enjoyed snorkeling right in front (bring your own gear!), and my brother and nephew took the complimentary kayaks out for a paddle around the bay. We didn’t use the gym, but it was nice to know it was there, along with yoga offerings. ||The location is fantastic—great as a base for exploring the island, and there are a few restaurants and shops within walking distance. That said, we would recommend having a rental car to see more of Moorea. ||Everything about Cooks Bay Hotel and Suites was special, family-friendly, and welcoming. From the kind staff to the peaceful setting, it really struck the perfect balance between comfort and charm. We’d absolutely love to come back—next time, hopefully for a longer stay.

Belle expérience que ce petit week-end de trois jours passés en famille dans cet hôtel qui mérite d'être connu. Personnel extrêmement disponible et gentil. Petit coin de plage très bien pour les enfants. Toutes les chambres sont à proximité de la piscine et de la plage. Magnifique panorama sur la baie de Cook... Petit hôtel qui a su garder un caractère familial bien loin des grandes chaînes hôtelières impersonnelles. Juste une petite chose, attention à la piscine pour les enfants en bas âge. Mérite peut-être d'être repensée (système de marches très abruptes). En résumé, Hôtel à recommander sur Moorea...

If you are in Moorea, Cook’s Bay Hotel is the place to be!!! We had the most wonderful time here. I wish we could have stayed here longer. The location is the best with access to other restaurants and near by town. Beautifully decorated rooms, amazing snorkeling right in the property, kayaking, paddle boards and they give you all that you need. The sunset was one to remember. I am already planning to come back.

30 years ago, we honeymooned here. Unfortunately, the hotel fell into disarray and closed for many years.Two years ago, a beautiful resort was built to replace the old. We came back for 10 days for our 30th anniversary to celebrate here. We are so glad we did. The hotel/grounds are set in a picturesque setting of beautiful colored water and majestic mountains. In the pool there were floaty cushions that were so comfortable to just relax on in the pool. Many beds and lounge chairs to sit on. It is one of the few locations that have a great mid set price point. We appreciated the conservative efforts by the hotel. If you needed more, they provided, but they made efforts to help the surrounding environment. Rooms were clean and clean daily,. We did not experience the constant hotel cleaning trollers going down the hallways as other reviewers mentioned. I have read all of the reviews and noticed Cook's Bay Resort takes the criticism and improved on the feedback- a rarity nowadays. Staff was very kind and accommodating. We must acknowledge Azzaria for answering endless emailed questions. And a very special thanks to Coralina who brightened the beginning of each morning with her great service at breakfast with a big smile. We already miss her. The restaurant was excellent. We only ate dinner there. One of the dishes we ate was the best meal we have had in our lives. We ate all beef dishes and some salads and recommend them all. We will always cherish our memories at the Cooks Bay Resort. A big thank you for everything to all from Rick and Brenda.

Cooks Bay is on the north side of the island and is really beautiful. Th restaurant hotel food compared to what is available in Tahiti is great. The grounds are very relaxing with lovely views, free kayaks, and there is a green turtle feeding on the reef to greet you when you snorkel.

Wonderful romantic restaurant for dinner. Beautiful location by the water with friendly staff. Every dish we tried was delicious made with high quality ingredients. The wine selection was big with reasonable prices.

Superbe accueil du personnel et très sympa. Les chambres sont super pratiques et grandes.
Par contre, le café à disposition est du soluble (en poudre). Le petit-déjeuner vous est servi à table en fonction de la carte soit américain, intercontinental... et le café est simple... si vous souhaitez à la machine à pression ou espresso vous devrez vous acquitter d'un supplément, dommage pour le prix qui n'est pas donné.
Nous avons diné au restaurant qui est très bon.

My husband I stayed here for a week in May/June and loved our stay. We loved that it was a smaller resort but still had a lot of the amenities of a larger resort. We especially love the cabana beds at the pool which we never had to reserve early (or pay extra!). We also appreciate the pool side service during happy hour.||Re: the room - it was perfect for our needs. We liked being able to prepare a few of our own meals. The bed and pillows were great. 2 sinks in the bathroom was fabulous too. Note: they don't provide conditioner or body lotion so bring your own.|Some people complained of ants but we had no issues. We brought ziplocks from home so we could keep all our food secure.||Location: We walked to a small grocery store, enjoyed the food cart across the street, and walked 15 minutes to other restaurants as well. Loved having a spa across the street. We did rent a car for 2 days which allowed us to drive the island and explore more.||Staff: Extremely helpful with booking taxis, answering questions, etc.||If you're debating between the Sofitel and Hilton, stay here instead! You won't regret it.

Stunning location - excellent snorkeling right in front, lots of lounge space by the beach and pool, free kayaks, good restaurant and poolside bar/cafe. Small gym with a treadmill, elliptical and 1 weight machine, yoga 3x/week. Moorea is a very beautiful place, this hotel was a gem. Lots of couples and also families with young children. Strong AC and WiFi. Little kitchenette with a 2 burners. Comfortable bed and good shower.||Bring your mask, snorkel and water shoes, as none to borrow, but there were some pool floaties. They have shampoo and soap, but no other toiletries to speak of. They provide beach towels.||There are some shops and a couple places to eat within walking distance, but recommend having a car.

Cook's Bay Resort is set in a truly stunning location—the views are breathtaking, and the resort grounds are beautifully maintained, adding to the overall peaceful and luxurious atmosphere. The rooms themselves were clean and we loved the views on our deck.

One area that could use improvement is the gym. While I appreciated that there was a fitness space available, it was extremely small—essentially only comfortable for one person at a time. It felt more like a storage room outfitted with workout equipment rather than a dedicated fitness area. I believe the resort could greatly benefit from relocating or expanding the gym to better match the high standards set by the rest of the property.

That said, our stay was still wonderful overall, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend Cook's Bay to others.

Very underwhelmed with our stay here. Had stayed at the much cheaper Hibiscus Hotel for two nights and was a far better experience with a nicer outlook. Unfortunately the rooms are painted all white including the floor which gives the impression of being quite dirty with marks everywhere. Cracked safety glass on the deck. Location is not great as few dining options in the vicinity without a drive. Even though we were on the upper level at extra cost the possible view of the bay is blocked by the restaurant building. These rooms down at the sad end of the resort should be at a lower price point. A disappointing end to our lovely stay on Mo’orea.
Paid about US$600 a night but not money well spent.

Repeating what many others have said… the hotel and grounds are extremely picturesque with outstanding views; the rooms and common areas are super clean, the staff is both friendly and efficient … and the attached restaurant, though pricey (especially alcohol) is superb. The only thing lacking are a few more shaded spots by the pool. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Moorea.
