Museo imprescindible para conocer la cultura polinesa, las migraciones, dioses historia desde el principio a las actualidad. El museo es pequeño pero recoge una colección muy buena sobre cada archiélago y otros países de origen polineso.

Any visitor to Tahiti should include this museum on their "must do" list. Why visit the islands if you don't take an opportunity to learn about the history and culture of the people of Polynesia?

The museum is very well curated and organized by themes: travel by sea, religion, food, war, dwellings, etc. You will find the many interactive exhibits an easy way to explore some topics in greater depth

Spring the extra $5 for the audio guide. The many audio explanations give a much richer and detailed insight into many of the exhibits. I would gladly have paid for a CD of the audio parts to take home with me.

We took a little more than 3 hours to go through both the main exhibit and the photography exhibit. Time well spent. Do it!

Fabulous Polynesian experience in this quality museum. Multi language information on cultural pieces from the region. You can get around most of it in an hour. Beautiful tropics garden in the central courtyard.
Grab yourself a picnic lunch (from Le Fournil Hautbois on the main road) to enjoy in the spacious main grounds and waterfront.

This is a lovely collection and a must see to help you contextualize your visit to French Polynesia. The collection is well laid out and the grounds are amazing. Also they have one of Captain Cook’s anchors from the Resolute!

Najpiękniej umiejscowione muzeum na świecie!! Samo muzeum elegancko i stylowo zaaranżowane. Ciekawe posągi dawnych bogów. Nowoczesne tablice i makiety multimedialne. Jeśli jesteś na Tahiti i wyspach Polinezji Francuskiej, to obowiązkowo musisz się znaleźć w tym miejscu! Koniecznie też obejdź muzeum dookoła. Niezwykłe umiejscowienie muzeum w jednym z najpiękniejszych miejsc na wyspie może zachęcić do wizyty w tym miejscu nie tylko miłośników historii i tradycji, ciekawych miejsc i kultur, które odwiedzają, ale też pragnących nacieszyć swoje gusta estetyczne wspaniałą okolicą i widokami wokół samego muzeum! Zapłaciliśmy za wejście 1000. Studenci wchodzą za darmo z ważną legitymacją. Można też kupić bilet kombinowany za 1500 z wejściem na wystawę fotografii. Jeśli uważasz opinię za przydatną, kliknij serduszko! :-)

Accessible aux PMR, scénographie moderne et agréable, je n’ai pas eu le loisir d’écouter l’audio guide mais s'il est moitié moins intéressant que les panneaux explicatifs (en FR, ENG, Tahitien) il vaut complètement le coup! Les collections sont magnifiques ! Un vrai voyage culturel a travers l’histoire et la culture polynésienne ! Je recommande avant de visiter plus avant les autres îles!

Musée très bien agencé et didactique, qui permet d'appréhender la Polynésie française. A mon avis, une étape incontournable sur Tahiti. Le parc adjacent est très agréable. On fait le tour du musée en 1 à 2 heures.

Le musée est en réfection (novembre 2019) mais il ne faut pas hésiter à aller voir la sélection d'objets de l'exposition permanente. Les jardins et la vue sur la pointe des pêcheurs valent aussi le détour.

Si on ne doit faire qu'un seul musée en Polynésie Française, c'est celui là! Les explications sont complètes, parfois un peu trop. Mais les pièces archéologiques sont très belles et vous n'en verrez pas autant ailleurs. Prendre une bonne demi-journée pour cette visite.

Très beau musée pour connaitre la géologie, l'endémisme de la biodiversité, la culture et l'histoire de la Polynésie française. On y est retourné deux fois, la deuxième fois c'était le 19 septembre 2015, le jour du patrimoine. Tout était gratuit avec des danses polynésiennes et des ateliers pour les enfants...très beau moment de partage
