I am a member of Accor and recently the international one from Australia. I travel the world over from Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and all Islands in the Indian and Pacific oceans. I stay in 5 star hotels everywhere I go. I go to Fiji almost every year where I feel so welcomed and at home in sofitel. Apart from Mauritius, even if there is a need for security, NEVER have I encountered so much restrictions, security checks, interogations, be assessed, made to wait at the gate before being allowed clearance to enter after the gatekeeper has contacted management AND a mysterious someone in authority. NOWHERE IN THE WORLD do I have to suffer such humiliation in the company of my palefaced companion and in the process making me feel so cheap as if I am begging to enter the hotel. Everywhere I go in the world, may it be at Sheraton or any other, I enter freely and enquire at the reception to have a room or have lunch and dinner at Sofitel if booked out. Sofitel Mauritius practises RACIAL DISCRIMINATION .... FULL STOP. With your backward mentality it is as if the locals are not allowed to mingle with the PALE FACED TOURISTS and are not considered as human beings and equals but undesirables. NO ONE IS LESSER OR GREATER THAN ANY OTHER in this world. Mauritius Sofitel openly applies its own rules of discrimination and restrictions against the darkfaced locals. I was also denied my privileges to my Accor membership on an imaginary dictatorial attitude that I had to be a resident. Such is not the case
in Sofitel FIJI or anywhere else. Only during low seasons that Mauritians are invited to stay at hotels in Mauritius. HYPOCRITS. I find the employees to be rude, they speak in a dry could not care less tone, never smile and at times aggressive in their vulgar Mauritian way they answer back. I also noticed that they would suck up to the palefaces as if in a master/slave relationship and bow down to their demands. Anyway I actually had dinner there on that night. I ordered a beef Mongolian with rice. The rice was not basmati and not of the best quality for a five star hotel. The beef Mongolian was hard and chewey as if overly deep fried spread over thinly sliced green peppers and onions. I have eaten lamb Mongolian in Australia and China and the meat melts in your mouth. I find this Sofitel Mauritius hotel to be disgraceful and it needs to take a good look at management practices of discrimination, rough treatment of guests at the gate by the gatekeepers and ill-mannered innatentive waiters in dictating their own rules as per their likes and dislikes or what suits them at the actual time. Such is what it is in this uncivilised corrupt island of Mauritius. Such behaviour of discrimination DOES NOT exist or tolerated in civilised Australia.

L'hotel si trova in ottima posizione per poter visitare l'intera isola. I comfort e i servizi disponibili contribuiscono a rendere unica la vacanza.

Sehr schöne Anlage, Essen super. Die Getränke sind sehr teuer.
Die Reiseberatung war nicht sehr hilfreich. Es wurden keine Möglichkeiten gezeigt die man auf Mauritius erleben kann. Wir hatten lediglich eine Preisliste und die Telefonnummer der Dame.
Wir waren sehr froh dass wir dann Kevin vom Taxi Desk im Hotel kennen lernten. Er hat mit uns eine Tour gemeinsam gemacht und uns zwei weitere empfohlen. Es lief alles so problemlos und unkompliziert ab. Die Touren waren der Hammer. Kevin vielen lieben Dank nochmal an dich. Es war uns eine Freude dich kennen zu lernen.
Was wir sehr schade fanden dass am Abend keine wirkliche „Animation“ stattfand, wir aber leider keinerlei Informationen dazu hatten. Singt eventuell doch jemand, wann beginnt der Sänger/in. Das war sehr schade. Man wurde über gewisse Dinge zu wenig informiert.
Für uns war es auf jeden Fall ein sehr toller Urlaub. Wir haben die Zeit in ihrem Hotel genossen. Das Essen war lecker, die Auswahl war groß und qualitativ sehr gut. Die Poolanlagen sind sehr schön und sauber. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.
