Intercontinental Mauritius is a fantastic hotel with cool staff and amazing amenities. Highly recommended for a luxurious stay!

The resort is beautiful & has an attached, turbulent beach. Food at "Senso", the 24 hour buffet restaurant is good, especially the breakfast. For dinner, they prepare lots of Indian cuisine but the taste is not authentic in case of many dishes ( like gatte ka saag & baingan Bharta). All their preparations are lacking in salt ( which is understandable) but they don't keep salt ????& pepper on every table. I found the roasted, salted peanuts stale & oily every single time. Jaywantee in this restaurant (at Indian preparations counter) was very courteous, caring & loving. She treats guests like family members.
The hotel has an over hyped, socalled exclusively Indian restaurant " VEDA", where one can enter only after prior appointment. It serves very average food & the service is hopeless. The staff is poorly trained for such a reputed chain of hotels. The restaurant manager, Varuna, herself takes things casually & takes the side of erring waiters. This restaurant served me the worst chicken tikka ever ????, lacking in salt & brimming with garlic. I must admit that Himanshu, the master chef ????????, served me a proper Chicken ???? tikka the next day in SENSO.

Had a great time. Unfortunately, there was a conference going on for 2 days that meant we were unable to use the main restaurant and had to go to a small restaurant where the options for our meals were limited. The delegation seemed to have preferential treatment which was very annoying considering how much we paid for our holiday. Also the fact we had to wait 3 hours to check in to our room and was only offered water after nearly 23 hours of travelling was ridiculous, never had an all inclusive holiday where this has ever happened and I've been on numerous over seas holidays for many years. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent especially in the Veda restaurant.

Very nice hotel, however it is a typical 5 stars hotel and no big surprises.
