Update 2/23/24
We were looking to get an awesome burger. They hit it out of the park. It was cooked perfectly and everything was perfect.

We had another great meal. It looked so good i started eating before I took a picture. Awesome!

We were a bit leary about returning to Underwood based on previous reviews. However, the service, food and atmosphere were spot on. The two foodies in our group loved the Thai dishes. The tuna tartare was excellent, and the salmon entree was outstanding!

We sat outside which was less of a vibe. Overall though the food was delicious. We got the Hoisin glazed baby back ribs. Cost 23 dollars. That was really good.

For an appetizer we got the ahi tuna tartar. 21 dollars. That dish was TINY. just doesn’t make sense compared to the main course price.

The food absolutely delicious!!! One of the best tuna tartars I’ve ever had. With the kindest staff ever! The atmosphere was nice as well with nice booths and a warm lighting.

I can’t stand going to this place. My wife thinks it’s ok so we end up here a couple times a year. It’s terrible every time. The service is so spotty. Tonight we waited for over an hour to get our food after ordering. The waitress rarely came out to us (we were sitting in their out door area). I had the burger and they give you no sauces for the burger I have made the mistake of asking for ketchup and mustard before only to have waited for a half hour for it to come out to put on my cold burger. Tonight I just ate it dry. There are burgers you can eat dry and they are still great (try Handline in Sebastopol if you haven’t), but this one was just meat in a bun. No flavor.

Cute local joint - perfect for a late lunch of oysters and Mac/Cheese. Server was attentive and pleasant! Warm chocolate cake was delicious as was the lemon torte!

Beautiful outdoor setting. The BLT was really good. The burger is amazing. Also cooked to customers request. Tuna tar tar was also quite good. Nice flavors.

My husband, son and I went to dinner on Sunday at Underwoods. We have been here numerous times over the years and love the cozy bistro atmosphere and delicious food. This time however, we were very disappointed. My son ordered the Thai Fried Chicken. I specifically asked how many pieces and which pieces would be included. Our server said it was "Chef's choice," but when I followed up to ask if there would be a piece of white meat, a breast, I was told yes. What arrived was two wings and a small thigh, along with a half cup of rice and a small cucumber salad. Two wings!!!? Really? This is not enough food for a grown man and quite a mark-up for $24.75. The Chef clearly chose to disappoint us. Luckily (or so we thought), my son also ordered Macaroni and Cheese. Their version of Mac and Cheese included blue cheese, which completely overwhelmed the other cheeses and gave the dish a funky taste. We did take it home in a to go box, but threw it in the garbage right away. The menu should have listed blue cheese in the description as it can be an acquired taste. We would not have ordered it had we known. We had to stop for fast food on the way home for my son!

Service was unusually slow and we had to ask for our bill more than once. Our plates were not cleared away. I still gave Underwoods 3 stars on the food because the two New York steaks we ordered were cooked perfectly and the Pommes Frites were delicious. However, quite a disappointing night out.

Great food, great service. A good place to go and have a beverage at the bar, or sit down for a nicer meal. The steak was butter tender, flavorful and a satisfying size. The street parking can be a little challenging, but nothing off putting. A little noisy for quiet conversation, but not so loud as to be unable to have one.

Great place to relax before or after wine tasting. Also near wonderful bike trails. So, grab your bikes, head for a ride then relax with some wonderful chicken and oysters and a well deserved glass of wine or beer ????
