The good:|The rooms are very nice. Beds very comfortable. Colmar is very cool and this is a near historic building. ||The service was fine. A little spotty. Nothing egregious but also nothing spectactular. ||The bad: |Arrival at this place left something to be desired. We could not figure out how to get to the road this hotel is on and the hotel didn't have any parking for us. We ended up not even being able to drop out luggage off at the hotel. We parked 3 blocks away and drug out luggage on the cobblestone streets. ||I'd recommend reaching out to guests below with more detailed and specific arrival instructions. ||If you are going to book the hotel, just plan ahead a little better than we did to try to mitigate these challeneges. ||If you go, I highly recommend doing the 3 castles hike near Kayserberg. And you must check out Riquewir and Eguisheim. If I returned I would honestly probably stay in one of those smaller villages.

Beautiful boutique hotel in Colmar. We were celebrating my birthday, so they gave us a bottle of wine and a room on the third floor with the only balcony. The location is in the old town on a street that may become pedestrian only. For now, we could drive up to the hotel to unload our luggage and parked behind it in a gated area. The hotel is owned by a Michelin chef, Eric, who was extremely helpful to my husband in parking the car when it became full. Breakfast is fabulous, and he even provided takeout bags for the extra bread, pastries, etc that we enjoyed as we drove around the nearby towns. Great AC, bed linens, staff, and amenities. At check out, we were given a delicious cake that he made.

My room was beautiful. Small room with a king bed and full bathtub; perfectly appointed. The only reason I can’t give it five stars is because it was a little warm. Note this is only mid May but my room was on the third floor and had only one small window which I opened. I asked the lady at the front desk to have someone check the AC but she only offered me a fan or to remove the comforter from the duvet. Hmm? No one came!

The service at the reception was for the most part 100 percent except for the young lady who never followed up on the fan etc!! I felt like I was at the Kempinski in Cancun, Mexico where I did get the fan! lol!

The service in the Brasserie was excellent where I ate dinner one night and breakfast a day later. I went late to breakfast as I had jet lag and no one offered me the eggs on the menu or the coffee… the perils of traveling alone as a middle aged woman. I guess everyone just wanted to quit breakfast. I didn’t ask because I didn’t want to be difficult. It was 10 am and breakfast was wrapping up.

Colmar is a not to be missed city. If you have read your guide books you know that Colmar is the one city that was NOT bombed in WWII because ? General had honeymooned there and he spared it for fond memories!! Little Venice is quaint.

Splurge a little and live life to the fullest!
