My stay at Hotel la Pergola was really great when visiting Venice back in March - it was really nice to stay outside of central Venice and Lido was such an amazing choice to go to.
This hotel was in a really nice and quiant part of Lido and was so calming and peaceful to get to and stay in! With regular waterbuses to the center of Venice, this hotel is still a great choice when wanting to regularly travel to the center of the city.
I never met the staff here but rather communicated via messages. Whilst staying here, I actually never encountered another person. The only reason I dropped a star was that arriving at the hotel was a little bit confusing as no one was here and we ended up ringing the doorbell outside for half an hour trying not to be rude by entering on our own accord. However, once we got inside, we managed to figure out which key was ours and the rest of the stay went perfectly.

Stayed here in Sep 23 with my partner. Delayed posting this review as we were upset with the whole issue and wanted to forget about it but I now feel others should be forewarned. This is the most disgusting place I have ever stayed in. The room was absolutely filthy and hazardous to health as it was filled with black mould. This can be seen on the walls and ceiling. It’s also above the shower in the bathroom. The AC blows rotten air which smells like mould and you can see staining on the ceiling in front of the AC vent. I suspect the entire AC system is full of mould. We discussed the problems with Eduardo on our first evening. He made numerous excuses and tried to tell us this was normal in Venice. We’ve stayed elsewhere in Venice and also have common sense to know this is not normal. We considered leaving it was that bad. He encouraged us to leave. He should be ashamed of himself that his guests regularly have to leave early. As you can see in his google replies, he usually says that he doesn’t know who one is or cannot find the booking. He also says that no one told him in person. I’ll be interested to see if that is his reply to my review, given we did speak to him. If you also look back at previous reviews over the past 2 years you will see pictures showing the same as mine, so these issues are long standing.
We understand the concept of budget hotel but this place is totally not worth a single penny.

Comment est il possible de louer des chambres dans un tel état surtout au prix de la chambre !
Acceuil par une caméra micro qui ne fait aucun effort avec la barrière de la langue.

0 stars is not possible so I give 1 star. We booked a room from booking.com and arrived at the place and there was noone, basically got scammed. The room was non refundable, so we waited there, hoping someone will come down but it seemed completely empty.
After a while we called booking directly and they helped us out thankfully, But this hotel wasted our limited time and left us in a very difficult position.

Le gérant est adorable, il m’as envoyé plusieurs mail pour me préciser le chemin de l’arrivé, donnée plusieurs conseils sur les activités etc. Il est très souriant, on sent qu’il veux le bien de ses clients, on est écouté, conseillé si on recherche un restaurant sympa, ou autre… Et son numéro est toujours joignable en cas de soucis.
Évidement il n’est pas là 24/24 mais qui travaille 24/24 ? Il faut vivre et dormir aussi.
Oui, parfois la chasse d’eau met un temps avant de s’arrêter de couler, oui il y a de la moisissure au plafond (Venise est très humide c’est normal), mais la literie est bien. La chambre est tout à fait correct. C’est un juste milieu pour les moyens/petit budget.
Le café est offert tout les matins en libre service ce qui est vraiment sympa !!
Au début j’ai simplement eu un peu de mal pour le trouver. En fait, quand vous arrivez et que vous voyez le paneau lumineux « Pergola » vous prenez la petite rue, et c’est le portail quelques mètres plus loin sur votre gauche ????
Si vous chercher un endroit simple c’est un endroit fait pour vous !
