Big thumbs up to Bre W. And the mostly amazing staff for holding this place together despite an aging building and the inherent craziness that can happen at any transient lodging such as a hostel. Let’s be clear…to even have a hostel in the center of such a safe and affluent town as Hermosa Beach with immediate access to the beach and even more affluent Manhattan Beach…is a lucky charm that every traveller should be glad to take advantage of considering that to actually live here costs an absolute fortune! Great job Bre you’re a true rock star!!! ????⭐️????????????

I was there just one night, a Saturday night. The place is above a restaurant bar and the band started playing seven or eight I don’t remember but the bass was so loud that I just couldn’t think. At 10:30 the music stopped and I thought oh nice, they were continued to play from 10:45 until … still playing. I had to buy my own lock for the locker which was fine. I think $7-8. The floor of the half bathroom was fairly dirty I would rather not take a shower then to have to look how dirty it is. You get what you pay for. I saw the big bathroom in the morning and it was really nice.

The most beautiful location outside you could ever stay at. The view from my room in the morning included ocean and sand.

I was too tired to go to the BBQ but the thought is great. It has a youthful vibe. You make your own breakfast in the morning there’s pancakes which really turned out to be like crêpes and they had chocolate chips and peanut butter and cinnamon my goodness that was super yummy. And I also made a couple eggs on the grill myself, and then washed my own dishes. ???? it was like camping in a cabin in the city.

Une auberge très sympatique, idéalement située au pied (pour ne pas dire sur) la plage, au coeur de la place principale au dessus des bars. Certes il y a de la musique les fins de semaine mais je n'ai eu aucun problème à dormir. Odile la gérante est adorable, quant au reste du staff sur place vous accueille et vous intègre comme une famille. Le petit déjeuner est appréciable et il est même possible de louer des vélos pour la journée. J'ai adoré mon séjour ici et je n'étais pas la seule car j'ai croisé plusieurs personnes qui y revenait.
