Sometimes, I wonder about certain individuals who give bad reviews about hotels. Is your own home perfect? I mean is it always clean? Does it smell like floral and jasmine? Or is it sometimes a little moldy? My point is, check yourself and your house before writing reviews, you just may change your mind.
I said all that to say this, the experience has been top notch for me. From the moment I made the reservation until today, it’s been the warmest welcoming. I’m here from California to enjoy Christmas with family. I started feeling under the weather and decided to say in my room today. But, I was having trouble with the TV cable constantly going out on me. I called down to the front desk and asked if the TV could be switched out. Well, I was told maintenance was already gone and wouldn’t return until after Christmas. So, I said, ok. A few minutes later, there was a knock at the door. It was a beautiful young lady named Teake. This angel/concierge quickly jumped into action. She not only switched out my Flat screen TV single-handedly, she brought me a Keurig machine with all the trimmings to make myself hot tea for my sore throat. She gave me a goody bag for the inconvenience and even offered to get lemons from the store if needed. It makes me teary-eyed the feeling of home that was bestowed upon me. I’ve stayed at many top hotels but this little two star Wingate hotel has my lifetime vote. Thank you to Ms Teake (hope I spelled the name correct), Thank you Thomas, and Cullen. I’ll be leaving after Christmas but I’ll tell anyone I can about this wonderful staff.

The best part of this place is the hospitality by Thomas ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, at the front desk. He’ll make you feel like you are at home from the jump.

The breakfast could be better.

We love the homey feel of the Wingate. The staff go above and beyond to ensure we have what we need. So friendly, yet professional. Our room is always very clean & comfortable. We travel to Houma 2 or 3 times a month and always stay here.

As we pulled up to the hotel to check in, a guy in a white Dodge Charger pulls up beside us with music blaring so EXTREMELY loud our vehicle was shaking and I literally thought my eardrums were going to explode!! The guy jumps out of his vehicle (as if he was in a hurry) pulled food items out of his car and made like 3 trips inside. I thought he was Uber Eats or Doordash. As we approach the front desk , he runs behind the counter. He wasn’t Uber Eats nor Doordash… he’s an employee!!! Not a good first impression when you’re expecting a nice quiet peaceful stay. The room was very spacious and clean.
