EL ARBOL (HOTEL MAKANDA)

The rooms are simply the pinnacle of design art! Very stylish, ergonomic, nothing superfluous, but at the same time there is everything you need. We were also very satisfied with the service. The breakfasts from the restaurant are also very hearty and varied.

This resort was truly exceptional! If I could assign a rating of 10 stars, I most certainly would. Our accommodations were exquisite, offering a pristine environment with a breathtaking view of the ocean. The service provided by the staff, particularly Elias and Esteban, was unparalleled; their dedication and attention to detail exceeded all expectations. This experience was unparalleled, as I have never encountered such a level of hospitality elsewhere. Moreover, the presence of diverse wildlife, including monkeys, toucans, and even a sloth, added an enchanting touch to our stay. Additionally, the seamless process of booking excursions through the resort greatly enhanced our overall experience. Without a doubt, I am already contemplating my return, as there is no other establishment in the area that I would consider for my future stays.

Wonderful seclusion. Only 33 rooms and adults only. You can hear (and see!) all of nature. Two pools with Jacuzzis and bars. Open outdoor seating breakfast and happy hour. Kitchen was amazing with never a bad order and food was fantastic (incl room service food quality). Bartenders are skilled - you name it, they'll make it.

Rooms are ocean view. Ours had a balcony jacuzzi. Another in our group had a pool with jets. On-site spa was great for couples massages. Staff are friendly and attentive in all areas. We were continuously checked on. Town is nearby for great eats too. Excursions were fairly close for zip-lines, waterfalls, ATV tour. Towels available for off site use. Private beach access. Onsite Shuttle available as needed.

No crowds, no lines, no noise, no kids. Service and quality rival Sandals but not all-inclusive. Very much a value for all received. We rented a car and took the toll highway in. Good move to get into town. Taxi service available. Felt safe and welcomed at all stops. Came as 3 couples with our own villas (3).

We came in October for a week. Rained in the afternoons for a little bit but it is the rainy season. Last day here, it rained all afternoon and night which gave us the excuse to use the jacuzzi for hours and order in!

I highly recommend this romantic place. We hope to return soon.
