Nice little hotel right at a central location in Edinburgh! Great decorations and feel in the lobby that connects to an extraordinary coffee shop and bar and restaurant. The room situation was a little odd for us as we had to take an elevator up one floor and then go down a hallway to take the stairs down a few flights to get to our room. We got lost a couple times finding our way back to the lobby until we figured out the route. But the hotel staff was very helpful and helped get the bags down the stairs at check in and up them at checkout.

An excellent luxury hotel in the hearth of Edinburgh. Cannot recommend it enough, especially loved the IC lounge and excellent restaurant.

Great location, lovely hotel and staff. However the bedroom we were in was pretty dated and needed a refresh with dirty marks here and there. The bed sadly was uncomfortable. I don't think the room marries up with the price per night. Definitely paying for the name and the location

The service and location were great, however on the second day an unauthorized charge wad made on our credit card that was used for the deposit for the hotel with an amount of 400 GBP and we had to immediately contact our bank and cancel our card as we thought it was fraudulent only to find out through the bank it was the hotel. When inquiring with the front desk no one seemed to understand what happened and each worker gave a different excuse and claimed the system sometimes glitches and charges the cards which is extremely concerning in my opinion.
What bothered me the most was they didn’t seem apologetic and didn’t understand our frustration as they will reverse the charge.
I definitely will not be staying here again.

We enjoyed our stay at the George. Great location and the service was great. One of our guests became unwell and the staff were very helpful and allowed us a later check-out to give us more rest time before moving to our next destination. The breakfast was fantastic. The George will be our new go-to hotel when visiting beautiful Edinburgh.

Good location only a few minutes walking from the old town. About half an hour drive from the Edinburg airport. Rooms are nice, all you need.

Club lounge offers crisps and soft drinks throughout the day. From 2.00 to 4.00 pm there is tea time with some cakes as well. From 5.00 to 8.00 pm alcoholic drinks and canapés are offered. Lounge misses attention most of the time, most of the time there is no one attending it.

As ambassador member I received a small gift but with a wrong name, after bringing it to the attention they removed the gift but did not replace it. Only after second contact the girl at the reception made sure to swap it. Funny, but it can happen.

Stayed for 4 nights, excellent service and breakfast. While there was a minor issue with the air conditioning, the staff and technician were quick to address and resolve the problem. I appreciated their swift response and took the matter seriously.

We have just had the most wonderful stay at the George - they really went above and beyond in every aspect.

Before we got there they sent a welcome email asking if we needed anything and I mentioned my wife was Gluten and Lactose free and could they recommend good restaurants in the area for this. They of course came back with a good selection, but also noted this down so that when we arrived they were fully set up to cater for her. Most hotels this means a few bits that just about tick the box, in the George they went above and beyond to ensure she had amazing options (see the pictures).

We had access to their club lounge (which is amazing) usually for these sort of things you basically have what’s there in terms of food and if it doesn’t suit then that’s unfortunate, not here, here they made full platters just for her and brought them out when she arrived, really made her feel special. This was the theme throughout from all the staff, nothing was to much trouble, everything done with a smile, warm and welcoming.

The on site restaurant Petie beef was excellent and we had a wonderful meal there, lovely staff and brilliant atmosphere.

As someone who is constantly in hotels (for work) this was head and shoulders above them, I really can’t sing the praises of the hotel and the staff more.

Un hôtel parfait service prestations.. petit déjeuner..... Seul bémol l'insonorisation via la rue derrière... On pense toujours que la fenêtre est mal fermé vu le bruit ! Sinon le reste au top !????
