Lovely staff, excellent breakfast, close to the city center, nice clean rooms, some really rare and nice single malts in the bar

We were here for four nights and had a very comfortable stay. The room had ample space and the bathroom was clean and functional although did seem a little neglected (broken tiles, poor shower pressure, leaking shower screen). The beds were most comfortable and the amenities in the room (coffee machine, hairdryer, bath robes, USB plugs etc) were great. The breakfast selection is decent although porridge, omelettes, eggs (not scrambled) etc are at an additional cost and the coffee is subpar. The location is nice, right by Carlton Hill within walking distance to much of the old and new town. The staff are wonderful - very friendly, polite and helpful. I likely wouldn’t stay again given the numerous hotel options in Edinburgh at a similar price point.

Booked to stay 2 nights for my husbands birthday. We were greeted with birthday wishes at the front desk and when we checked into the room, we found a delicious selection of cakes, a card, and a voucher for 2 free drinks at the bar! What a lovely surprise and that level of service stayed throughout our stay. All of the staff are an absolute credit to the hotel and could not be more polite. The room was very comfortable, breakfast was great quality and selection and the location perfect to be quiet but within easy walking of the city centre. Would highly recommend ????
