10/10 - I got the tagine with chickpeas (moroccan inspired soup) and it was so freaking good omg. i love soup. I also got the onion bread and it was so fresh and delicious :) will definitely go back! it was raining today so soup was just perfect! nice staff and great location (really close to UOE). a little small tho so might be packed when it's lunch time!

Le chili végétarien est excellent (il vaut 7£). Le chicken Chili est sympa aussi bien que plus épicé. Les chilis sont servis avec quelques chips (tortillas), et au choix avec de la crème sour, du fromage (vegan ou pas) et des jalapenos.
Il y a quelques places pour s’asseoir et manger sur place. Je recommande à 100% !

Bastante mal, fuimos y solo les quedaba un tipo de sopa, es comprensible esa situación pero el verdadero problema es que la pedimos nos la cobraron y resultó que después no tenían, tras una semana sigo esperando la devolución.

Sat in and got takeaway soup and onion bread during my visit to Edinburgh. Both times the soup options have clearly had some thought put into the flavours, even though there’s new flavours every day. It’s also really affordable and such a friendly little spot with staff managing a constant stream of people really effectively. Also LOVE the help yourself croutons jar. Tienen varias sopas del día y casi todas son sin gluten. No disponen de dos cocinas por lo que la chica nos advirtió de que podría haber contaminación cruzada, pero las sopas no tienen gluten, por lo que una persona con intolerancia no celíaca podría comerlas sin problema. El cuenco grande es bastante contundente para una persona y puedes acompañarlo con pan.
En los días fríos de Edimburgo es una maravilla encontrarte con un sitio así, con sopas calentitas e ingredientes saludables.

Average soup at best. Considering it’s soup, you pay a lot for the product you get. Honestly, there are much better options in the area.

I’d highly recommend this establishment if you want to experience subpar soup, poor service, and rudeness.

My words of advice for the hungry: Avoid, avoid, avoid!

This is a great little spot right by the Museum of Scotland. The split pea soup (and chili, which my partner got) was tasty and perfect for a rainy day. There are plenty of vegan options. It's a small spot but we were able to grab a table.

Just what I needed! Loved this cute little place, delicious soup, great service & honest price. Can’t recommend this place enough. I was pleasantly surprised to see Rasam on the menu, brilliant!

Situating near Forrest hill road and McEwan hall, Union of genius welcomes students and passer-by to try its variety of soup. There are around 6 soups or more to choose from. Soup comes with two sizes and I go with the big one which I think you can be full.

I tried the chicken with white bean. It’s warm and and flavorful. The onion toast is quite novel for me but impressive as well
The free crouton also add other textures to soup as well.
For someone who doesn’t like veggies I think it’s quite good and healthy food even though white bean is too big for me (personally speaking)

Nothing is better than a warm soup during a rainy or chilly day.

Me encantó el ambiente, las sopas deliciosas así como el chocolate caliente y los bizcochos, personal superamable, me hubiera quedado más tiempo sentado disfrutando hablando con mi mujer pero el local estaba lleno y más gente quería comer sopa. Perfecto para comer algo calentito y rico cuando aquí hace frío. Súper recomendable.

What an amazing lunch spot! Affordable, delicious soups and chillies. We got there at around 2 and they only had 2 soups remaining, probably not what we would usually go for but they were delicious, warming and comforting. The bread was nice too. They also donate a lot to the community and you can sit inside or take away. Will be back when next time in Edinburgh.

A cosy little soup place, popular so you might struggle for a seat!

We had the golden chicken chilli and the peri peri chicken soup. Very tasty.

We had a choice of lovely hearty soups and crispy croutons- this is my perfect lunch spot! Fast and friendly service and sound ethics too - providing soup for those in need. It was so good we went 2 days running! The flapjack was delicious too. Other options also sounded good...

Excellent restaurant, les soupes sont excellentes, le Chili était sublime. Pas mal de choix pour un budget très correct, pour les végétariens c'est parfait également. L'accueil était très agréable et chaleureux.
