We've always loved the big yin, full breakfast here but went for the eggs benedict this time. A mighty plateful, with loads of spinach and smoked trout in the shore version. Prices have risen a lot, this one at £13.95 and they need to update their online menu prices along with many other restaurants these days. It still says £11.95 for the eggs benny. Still of its kind, one of the best brunches you can get.

Omg the food was so so good, we did the full Scottish and the Cullen skink.

I have been to the Roseleaf numerous times now and every time I leave happy to go again. The staff are lovely and happy to help with anything. The atmosphere is great and it is also a very cozy place to have dinner or drinks.

I would highly recommend the cauliflower bites! They are one of my favourite things from any restaurant.

I came here for a quick lunch on a horrible rainy day. It has an eclectic collection of decorations and a lovely, cosy atmosphere. I had the cullen skink with garlic bread and my friend had the french toast with fake bacon. Both were delicious and perfect for the weather. The staff were friendly and we really appreciate them being able to squeeze us in despite it being almost fully booked. Book ahead to avoid disappointment!

First time at the Roseleaf and the only thing on my mind was: why had we waited so long?!?
Service was spot on, the atmosphere amazing, the music perfect and not too loud. And the food!!! One of the best full Scottish ever. We will be back for sure to try all the dishes on the menu. I must say, the Roseleaf is a real Leith gem!

In Edinburgh for work, staying in Leith. Found this place via maps, and the reviews are excellent. I can see why. Busy enough that I had to get a seat at the bar, but that was no problem. Excellent service. I only had delicious fishcakes and double dipped chips, plus 2 different beers. But everything was delicious, and surprisingly filling, as well as reasonably priced.
There is a real buzz from all the conversations going on, but the music volume is perfectly set; you can just hear it in the background but it's not drowning anything out.
To quote Arnie, "I'll be back" if only to try the chunky Cullen Skink.

Proche de notre hôtel situé dans le quartier de Leith, nous y sommes allés diner grâce aux commentaires sur Google. Aucun regret : nourriture excellente, service impeccable et chaleureux, ambiance conviviale, le patron accueillant, dans un décor très scottish ! Prix corrects. Super endroit pour boire une pinte notamment la Leith Juice. C’était la semaine des « pies », nous y sommes retournés tous les soirs de notre séjour !

BRAW. This place was bangin. We had to wait a while for a table but it was well worth the wait. The food is so tasty and the portions are super generous. There is a lovely traditional feel to the establishment, yet the food is modern and fresh, with great flavours. It defines a new era of pub food, proving that it doesn’t have to be the generic bland stuff you can find in some other places, showing the rest what can be done when thought and quality are prioritised when preparing the dishes. And the staff are sound af.

Come here as an occasional treat for the full cooked breakfast and a latte. And is one of the places I always make sure to bring friends and family to when they come to Edinburgh.
