So the setting is beautiful, fantastic, amazing, even breathtaking. Lots of cabins and a fun little restaurant. Good luck getting a reservation. They are hard to come by. Enjoy some peace and quiet and ocean views. Not very many modern amenities there, but you’re in paradise! Who needs them?

***29A/29B*** cottage
Booked this room 7 days ago online, I believe someone canceled the room and I got super lucky to be able to book it. 29A and 29B shares living room till 10pm. The sound of waves is so therapeutic and calming. You’ll park your car across the PCH after check in where you can get the parking permits. The check in office people were super friendly and let me get into the room at 1200 since the room was ready. Will definitely come back again if I get lucky.

Beautiful Beach and we had a delicious meal at the restaurant. Its historic district tells the stories of Japanese Americans who farmed this land and then were interred during WWII. Our country's history is diverse and needs to be fully told.

We didn't stay at the cottages. We were there for a wedding dinner. The food was great, the view wonderful! Charming place!

We were lucky enough to get cottage #1 which is an ADA cottage directly on the beach. The view was absolutely awesome! Unfortunately the furniture was uncomfortable & the sofa bed must be replaced. Not only is it very worn, the cushions & mattress were very thin. It was difficult to get up due to this. A Queen bed in the bedroom would be much better than the teeny double bed. Even though we got ADA parking, the car was approximately 200 yards away via dirt roads. It was very difficult for my wife to get there.

Beautiful area to visit in Newport Coast. Enjoy staying at these quaint beach cottages on your next vacation beach side! Make sure and book very far ahead & check back often for cancellations. Perfect for a sunny staycation as well!

Crystal Cove is a very special place. It took me years to figure out how to score a reservation, but now I’m lucky enough to get one each year. This will be the first year I’ve ever gotten a week in the summer. That is the hardest to get! Worth every penny! Being that close to the ocean and just staring at it’s beauty all day, is my favorite. My kids never get out of the water. The staff is amazing and always happy! The restaurant is my least favorite..it’s fabulous food and an outstanding location, but very expensive and the staff can be rude..not all of them, but some of them.

Next too impossible to gain eligibility to make a reservation as there is a third party that runs the reservation system . I have been trying for months to reserve a cabin for over 3 months . When I call the 1-800 number I get no help other than keep trying.

The vintage building by the beach has the cutest little coffee, shop/ restaurant and an outdoor bar.
Make sure you have reservations, this place gets busy on the weekends.
After your meal, go for a nice little stroll on the beach for some discovery.

I booked a dorm room for Cottage 38. It was a perfect staycation. Shared kitchen, bathroom, and patio. The room (38C) I was told is the smallest in the cottages. There's a lot to do outdoors. This was a short trip, and I did spend time walking along the beach and eating at the Beachcomber. There's also the tide pools and hiking trails. It's always colder at the beach, so if you get cold easily, I would recommend either a sleeping bag or an extra warm blanket. There is a heater in the room (old school type), and I used it sparingly. I heard there's an outdoor cat that lives on site but never got to see the cat. There's quite a few activities within driving distance - whale watching tours (Newport Landing Whale Watching), restaurants, shopping, etc.
Next time I visit, I plan to stay a little longer.
