Overall, this establishment has been a staple to Orange County. High quality fish, service, and atmosphere, so proud to see this place flourish.

Poké is always fresh, with good portions, amongst other items that are always prepared with great ingredients include: poké burrito, sushi rolls, ceviche.

The food is good and the place is cute, but I don’t recommend going anywhere near closing time. We arrived 45 minutes before they closed, ordered quickly and planned to be done and gone before 9pm. Unfortunately while we ate, with 20 minutes left before closing time, the staff was loudly stacking chairs/barstools, dragging metal chairs along the floor, rolling up rugs and generally making our dinner unenjoyable. I understand if we stayed beyond close but other tables were also still eating and ordering as well. So go early and enjoy, otherwise avoid Bear Flag Fish Co, or sit outside in the cold.

I typically go to Bear Flag Fish company once a month. I love their burrito and ceviche. This time I ordered sushi but it was not that impressive. I would not order sushi here. Overall it’s a good seafood restaurants with reasonable prices. I would go back again.

Bear flag never, ever disappoints! Their poke is always fresh, and their service is always friendly and efficient!
My hubby and I always split a poke burrito and a half pound of poke with chips, perfectly delicious, healthy and satisfying! 10/10 recommend!

Great food yes but you still use plastic utensils. "Responsible" and "accountable" are front row promises on page 1 on your website. How do plastic utensils align with that when there are SO MANY inexpensive better options?

I gave it another go before rating. Had a Burrito with Opah, chips and guacamole and it just didnt impress me. Smelled fishy. Guacamole comes in a plastic container, premade. Some dry rice pieces in burrito. Theres no real service so no rating there. Cashier lady was nice. Bit chill during the winter months so ring a jacket as you may end up outside. Three stars is generous for the total experience for me. Sorry bear flag. I saw people kept asking for extra
sauce so maybe thats what it takes to get to 5 stars.

I’ve had Bear Flag probably half dozen or more times since moving back to SoCal this summer. I usually go with a plate and poke, which always comes out fresh and very flavorful. Quality ingredients, no doubt, and portions are decent for the cost. I would say the one downside seems to be their ability to adequately prepare cooked fish. I’ve had Cajun snapper in the past, and it was overcooked, which took from the quality of fish and flavor. Tonight, I tried their Cajun opah, which was on their ‘recommended’ board at the counter. Well, it was definitely overcooked to the point that it was tough and dry. I had trouble eating it because it wouldn’t break apart. It also looked like they forgot to cook it with Cajun seasoning and they dumped seasoning in one specific spot right before giving it to me. I was hoping this place would set itself apart from the many other poke/seafood places around town with the great variety of fish, but I’ll probably limit my trips to Bear Flag here forward. There are too many other poke places that taste just as good at a better price point. Also, I usually do takeout and unfortunately do not notice the quality until I get home.

This place has the best food ever. Everything is so fresh and made to order. You might have to mortgage your house in order to pay for lunch but if you have tons of extra money lying around, this is what you want to spend it! It really is that good. You can't go wrong. Taco Tuesday is a bargain if you only eat tacos. Extra Tommy sauce is a must.

Disappointed after reading all the great reviews. One piece of fish was OK but the other came out burnt. You think the chef would have seen this, right? I am a huge fan of Black Cod, but this piece just did not hold the taste. Wonderong how old it was or if it was even Black Cod at all. Rice was OK and you cant mess up slicing avocado. So overall, the a avocado was perfect.
