BEST WESTERN SURF CITY

It’s a nice property with clean and comfortable rooms, and near the beach, HB. The breakfast is OK. The pool is OK. Hot tub included.

I was staying there with my team in November, there were no towels at the pool so we took some down from our room. After we checked out, we found out they charged each of our rooms $50 for stealing towels! I have been calling and emailing their manager almost every week for the past 2 months to explain and get reimbursed but no one has gotten back to me. Terrible service! Would not recommend then to anyone!

No hot water for showers. Checked every day. Had to go to my aunt's house to take a shower.
Motion detector Bathroom Light came on through out the night when each person went to the bathroom. Can't turn it off.
TV had 6 channels...and no ability to select cable. Complained to the management, but they did nothing.
A cleaning male person came in our room in the morning and talked to us while we were in bed, instead of quickly apologizing and closing the door. (2 women in each bed in PJ). Very inappropriate.
Coffee, warm. Hot water for tea, warm and chemical tasting. Beds are very comfortable.

I stayed here for two weeks and the staff, not once actually cleaned my room. I’ve had to walk to the front desk, request clean sheets… twice… and change the sheets myself. After changing the sheets, I was instructed to leave my dirty sheets outside my door! I asked to have my room cleaned almost every day. All they would do is make the bed (with the dirty sheets and the same blanket still on the bed), and empty the waste baskets. They never cleaned the bathroom I.e. toilet, vanity, bathtub, floor, mirror… only replaced towels. Not once was my floor vacuumed or mopped, nor were the tables ever wiped off.

I’m very disappointed because the staff is very friendly! They would say they would clean my room with a smile, yet it wasn’t ever done. One day they said they would clean the room… I came back only to find that the room phone was gone! They were installing new phones but forgot to put one in my room.

Also, the floors are so thin above, guests staying in the upstairs room sounded like a stampede every time they walked across the floor.

Oh, and the hot tub isn’t very hot and the WiFi is super slow. I had to turn off the WiFi to stream anything. I streamed tv on my phone because the remote doesn’t really work with their tv.

The location is close to everything but there are lots of sketchy people walking around on the sidewalk and waiting for the bus on Beach bl. There is also a preschool or daycare next door that’s got a little loud sometimes.

Again… really sad about it because I loved the people who work here! The breakfast guy is super nice and makes bomb breakfast, and the coffee is pretty good over there.

Hopefully they will read this and make the effort to improve a little. ;-)
