I realized I've never written a review for Hotel Normandie, even though I've stayed here several times and will be back soon. I've stayed all over LA, and all over the country, and what keeps me coming back when I'm in town is the staff, location, and cleanliness. I've had some small issues here or there, but you're in LA - cleanliness and safety is the most important factor, especially when alone. The staff here, everyone really, but specifically the front desk manager, Adam, have been exceptional. And my experiences are consistent every time I'm back. The gym close by and locking of the front door late night made this the only place I stay now when in the city. Cassell's is also a cute diner connected you can charge to your room. I tend to work there and eat when I have downtime (they also have a full bar). In nice weather, I really love sitting outside at the few tables. Highly recommend Hotel Normandie!

A lot of places try to be hip by combining modern and classic and I felt like, for once, this place nailed it. That applies to the atmosphere as well as the service which was helpful and down to earth. Good food and service in the diner downstairs as well, and a huge amount of great Korean food options within 2 or 3 blocks. Stayed here with our two kids who had been stuck on a plane for hours and had to constantly tell them to stop jumping around in the room because it is a ~100yr old building and I'm sure it was loud for the room below. Good water pressure and showerhead.
