HOTEL MARIJA ^{* * *}

We tried out the restaurant of the hotel which is accessible to anyone from the streets, and it was a disaster. We only wanted to grab a drink, so I ordered a lemonade, which turned out to be pure lemon juice, without any water in it. We also ordered two beers, they both arrived already open. Although they were of the same brand, they had a different taste, suggesting that they had opened it inside to switch the content with cheaper beer before they brought it to us. In addition one of the bottles had less beer in it than the other. I have no experience with the hotel itself but guessing from the restaurant it's definately not a place I'd be keen on staying at.

The hake was poorly seasoned as was the rice and salad. The only plus is that the hake is juicy and relatively cheap. Yummy dessert.

Room was relatively nice, lacking selection at breakfast but it did change day to day. They have a GREAT laundry service where you fill a designated bag for €5 and you get it back the next morning through house cleaning. We honestly expected to get our clothing back just shoved back into the bag or roughly folded but everything was folded and packed into the bag nicely and they even matched our socks together. Great price for a stress-free laundry service. Only problem is the difficult locks and the noise. Even when all the windows are closed you can still hear the people on the street talking, there is no significant difference between closed and open so it’s hard to say if the windows are not sound proof or if the outer walls are too thin. The bells ring every hour which did wake us up multiple times but that’s gonna be a problem anywhere you stay in old town, if you need quiet or are a light sleeper anywhere in old town is a bad choice, they can be heard everywhere inside and even a few blocks outside of old town.

Das ist aber das einzig Positive was es zu diesem Hotel zu sagen gibt….
Ansonsten alt, laut, klein und ohne jeglichen Charme…
