CHARLY’S DESERT TOURS

We took this tour as an excursion from
Norweigen. Go direct!!!
The guides were awesome! We didn’t know what to expect because Norwegian doesn’t show any reviews of their excursions. But this was a VERY informative tour. We enjoyed riding around in the air conditioned trucks and stopping around the dunes and seeing the different “animals”. Nick was extremely informative and we learned so much!! I highly recommend Charly’s

We did the Living Dunes Tour with our guide Thorsten. They go out with 2 groups in 2 vehicles. Together with the driver of the other group Johnny they made a wonderful team. Johnny would scout out the reptiles and insects. Thorsten told us that Johnny's nickname was "Johnny Walker" because of that. Thorsten provided a wealth of information throughout the tour of all of Johnny's findings plus a great deal of geological and historical information at times in 3 different languages. I nicknamed him "Thorsten Talker" lol. He was super knowledgeable. I absolutely recommend doing this tour and it is definitely worth your time and money!!! The Namib Desert is so beautiful!

A word of caution though. If you have back issues know that the 4x4 ride can be a bit rough especially in the very back row. I had to move to the middle row, which was much better.
Also of course there is no toilet, so be sure to use it before the tour departs.
