The hotel came highly recommended and as a result our expectations for locally procured seafood in particular were high. Our room was comfortable & perfectly turned out as was the bathroom. However, we had a disastrous dinner. The oysters were great but the Kabeljou was inedible. No flavour & over-cooked. My wife’s West Coast Lobster was fine but with little flavour. I returned the Kabeljou & the waiter professionally offered a plate of grilled hake. This took more than 20 minutes to appear. Even worse. Must have been deep frozen as what was presented was anaemic, thin & tough. Couldn’t manage more than three mouthfuls. Returned to the kitchen once again. Gracious but embarrassed staff member. Settled on crème brûlée which was served almost frozen. Returned to the kitchen & retired to our room fairly hungry. Breakfast was just passable. To its credit, Reception deducted the two attempts at fish dishes & crème brûlée from the bill. Overall, good impressions of staff but poor culinary experiences for a 4-star establishment.

Due to your in-depth feedback (thank you), I have taken this up with my restaurant manager colleague to investigate and to ensure such issues do not re-occur.
