Thank you so much to Samara and her team for making my stay so welcoming. I've been to Basel close to 7 times and this has been the most memorable trip so far. The room was fantastic and the mini-bar a pleasant surprise. Thank you so much as well for the welcome gift!

Top Lage, schöne Zimmer, empfehlenswert

Friendly staff, great location, exceptionally clean rooms. We really enjoyed the small details and the well-thought out and comfortable rooms. The rooftop terrace is also lovely. Hopefully construction next door will be over soon!

This gem of a boutique hotel was just what we were looking for. The location is perfect, within walking distance to anything you need, and all the shopping and cafes you would ever want.

Our room was an Jr Suite and it over looked Historic Markt Square, which is beautiful. The room itself was huge, gorgeously decorated, had a ton of closet and storage space, with a massive bathroom complete with a deep soaking tub and really high quality shampoo and conditioner. I was in heaven!

The restaurant downstairs which also provided the room service, that we partook in a few times, was excellent.

The hotel staff went above and beyond to treat us like Royalty. They helped with suggestions for restaurants, site seeing, helped research and book excursions close and far. They were so friendly and courteous.

There is construction going on, but they stop working at precisely 5pm and don’t start again until 8am. We were also there through Saturday and Sunday which they didn’t work. The light rail/tram system didn’t bother us at all, we even slept with the window open one night. I found it rather soothing and rhythmic, like a white noise machine. There is also a great rooftop terrace with beautiful views.

I highly recommend this hotel and if we are ever in Basel, we will stay here again!

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt und kommen gerne wieder. Vom Checkin bis zum Checkout waren alle äusserst freundlich, die Lage des Hotels ist hervorragend und uns gefällt der Stil, der sich durchs ganze Hotel einschliesslich der Zimmer und Bar zieht. Den Wellnessbereich haben wir nicht aufgesucht, daher können wir dazu nichts sagen. Allenfalls würden wir das nächste Mal ein günstigeres Parkhaus als das gegenüberliegende Storchen aufsuchen. Incredible hotel! Great breakfast with very attentive staff. Great location for the Christmas markets and the rooms were very well equipped with cleanliness levels upheld.

Meine Kritik mag verspätet sein aber ich bin der meinung an einem fest wie der fasnacht bei dem mehr als die halbe stadt dabei ist eine Gebühr in der höhe von 2 franken, für den besuch einer Toilette zu verlangen ist eine absolute Frechheit und asozial, andere hotels mit mehr sternen und Restaurants sogar mit international bekanntheit, haben keine Gebühr verlangt und waren sogar Verständnis voll. Mit verlaub, wir fasnächtler bringen euch die durstigen und hungrigen gäste in die Innenstadt wo auch das Märthof steht und so dankt ihr uns? Zum teufel mit eurem hotel und der direktion die solch eine banale idee hatte.

Everything. The management, front desk, restaurant, bar and housekeeping, exceptional. The staff always greets with a smile and so very attentive to one’s needs. The property itself is in a perfect place in the old town of Basel, so you can walk everywhere. Very clean with large rooms and all the necessary amenities. The bar and restaurant are busy and vibrant with wonderful dining options and cocktail bar. A special notice to the front staff and the restaurant staff breakfast, lunch and dinner,exceptional . Patrick, thank you and Umit for your passion for what you do and such wonderful and exceptional people. We’ve stayed with you before and can’t wait to see you all again! ????????????????

Sehr schönes zentral liegendes Hotel direkt am Markt. Die Zimmer sind modern eingerichtet und das Frühstück reichhaltig. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und offen für Sonderwünsche. Wir sehen uns wieder.

Lieu idéal pour découvrir Bâle et son carnaval

Das Hotel Märthof war das einzige welches an der Basler Fasnacht 2024 eine Gebühr für die Toilette verlangte.
Nicht etwa nur ein, nein satte zwei Franken wurden verlangt.
Es steht, damit im Gegensatz zum allgemeinen gültigen Brauchtum und zur Kultur, dass man an der Basler Fasnacht eben keine Gebühr für die Toilette verlangt.
Sogar die Toiletten des Hotel drei Könige stehen an diesen drei Tagen jedermann zur Verfügung.
Für mich ein absoluter Affront und negativ repräsentativ für die Service Orientierung des Hotel Märthof.

房间窗户没有隔音，有轨电车的噪音每3分钟一次，凌晨一点，对面的酒吧的客人一直在街上制造噪音，我这房间里听得清清楚楚！太恐怖的经历！

Semplicemente fantastico

Tout était magnifique et propre, le personnel accueillant. Seul bémol, on entend les trams qui grincent et les gens à la sortie des bars.

L’emplacement de l’hôtel est parfait: il permet de visiter Basel à pied et d’avoir accès au transport en commun facilement.
Le personnel est accueillant, serviable et sympathique.
L’hôtel et les chambres sont splendides et confortables.
Pour le parking, il faut se garer au parking Storchen à côté.
Concernant le restaurant, j’ai été agréablement surprise: les plats étaient du même niveau qu’un restaurant étoilé sans le prix exorbitant.

I have no complains at all about this hotel. The room very comfortable, everything in the mini-bar for free. All the staff very kind. Family friendly...
We had a great time!
If I ever go back to Basil, it'll be with you for sure!
