We were here for only one night at the beginning of March. At first everything seemed very very good. Clearly location is perfect, being close by to the city center and most of the places you would like to visit, but in our room we only had one small blanket (really it was for one person as it was not even covering whole bed..) and also the windows were not enough sound proof..The worst happened the folowing day when we wanted to visit the Zoo and to use the vouchers they gave us. Surprise..it was valid for only one person, and the hotel mentioned nothing, actually the way they expressed made it clear that is is the both of us..What if I did not had the money?? What if I used the public transport that was supposed to be free for both of us via that voucher and I got a fine??

Same like all other Motel One in Europe, at least those that I have stayed at before, the room doesn’t comes with any coffee/tea amenities. Bring your own J-plug adaptor. Room comes with UsB charger. The Christmas market is just outside the hotel. Generally it’s a nice simple no frill hotel.

I was here with a group in December 2023 during the Christmas market. We were there for business and only stayed one night, but it was a great experience and we would absolutely recommend anyone stay here in Basel. We were hesitant based on "Motel" in the name, but the lobby/bar area was great and the bartender made some of the best drinks we had on our trip. The rooms were nice and very comfortable. It was a wonderful experience and we look forward to coming back!
