A fantastic museum with engaging displays telling stories about colonial seafaring. Sadly very little focus on indigenous maritime history despite the wealth of cultural heritage ????

Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Noumea. The exhibition about the French boats that explored the southern continent and sank in the Solomon Islands was excellent. Plenty of English translations
