This is most probably the best campsite in Moz.
Clean ablution s.
Beautiful mowed grass.
Huge indigenous trees.
“On the beach” meaning NO dune or effort to go for a quick dip or body surfing.
Safe swimming.

We had intended to stay for 3 nights, and ended up changing our plans and extending our stay. This is most probably one of the best camp spots in the whole of Mozambique. Camping under the palme tree shade, right on the beach, on a extensive grassed area, with fully functioning support facilities. Thanks for having us, we will definitely be back.

We stayed 2 nights in Morrongulo on the campsites, on a beach barraca.
WOW! Waking up on the beach, with the sound of waves and the view was absolutely amazing. Camping is very reasonably priced, and we also enjoyed body surfing and a few servcies (ice, wood, drinks, ...). We bought seafood from a fisherman who came in the morning and if you do so, make sure you negotiate a lot as the initial rate was quite steep.
There is not much around so make sure you have most of your food with you if you intend to camp or use selfcatering

What a spectacular camping site!
Beautifully shaded and Loved the daily watered grass. Feels like you on a tropical island with coconut and palm trees. Views to die for. Thank you James for a wonderful experience we did not want to leave. We will be back...

We were out of season so VERY QUIET!!!
Lovely. Clean, beautiful surroundings, on the beach!! Absolute bliss!!. Think high season will be busy, vibrant, noisy, hot, and for the kids and youngsters a big jol!! Do go!!!

Planned a one night camp but fell in love with the sheer beauty of the lawned campsites and amazing coconut palms and pristine beach ????.. stayed for four nights, did a day trip to Pomene and returned to Murrungulo's comforts. Good ablutions too.
Lovely to meet owner James and his gorgeous Ridgeback dogs ????????????
A highlight of our Mozambique overland camping trip and definitely one to revisit.

The most fantastic campsite ⛺️ On the beach. We had a amazing time at Morrongulo - if you want to camp on the beach this is definitely the place to go!!!! White sandy beaches to walk and swim- beautiful view - just perfect for a beach holiday !!

We have now visited Mozambique at 10 different destinations and can honestly say that Morrungulo is our all time favourite by far. We spent 16 magical days camping on grass with well maintained grounds and an awesome view of the ocean, approx. 30m from our site. The clean ablution blocks offer warm and cold water and showering with a sea view was super special. This family owned lodge not only offers very friendly and efficient service but also offered wonderful assistance when we had camping equipment repairs. Thank you to the Nelson family for sharing your piece of paradise with us. We will be returning in the near future.

What a magical place!

We always refer to it as our "5 star camping paradise on the beach".

We are so grateful to say that September 2022 has been our third time at this lovely place. During our 16 days of camping we had daily shows of whales playing in the ocean and could even hear them blowing and flipping their tails.

The owners are warm and welcoming and always available to help with daily afternoon check-ins to see if all is good. It feels like you are visiting family that you only see once a year!

The ablutions have hot and cold water and one of the most loved features is looking over the ocean when showering.

We definitely recommend Morrungulo Beach Lodge and can't wait to return!
