We spent a night at Hali Country Hotel as part of our 2 week trip along the ring road. We picked it due to its excellent location - only 12 minutes from Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. Given the location we were looking for our options were limited. This is a clean, well organized, and well run hotel in the perfect location. The price is high - given the limited options for the region that’s not surprising. Our room and bathroom were clean and we had a lovely view of the ocean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was simple, it included with our stay. Dinner was not included - but there are no other restaurants for at least 30-40 minutes in any direction so it’s pretty much your only choice. The food was excellent (but expensive). I had the lamb and my husband had the arctic char and both were delicious. Staff were incredibly kind and welcoming.

Hotel muito bom, ficamos nele duas vezes, na segunda vez tinhamos agendado um passeio a Ice Cave pela madrugada, então resolvi ficar no hotel novamente para poder chegar antes do Sol nascer no ponto de saída, avisei que não iriamos tomar o café da manhã e o pessoal do hotel gentilmente deixou um kit de café da manhã no hall do hotel para a gente! Os quartos são muito bons, espaçosos e o hotel que é uma antiga fazenda, fica em um lugar muito bonito, conta com um restaurante onde é servido o café da manhã, que gostamos muito também. O restaurante tem poucas opções de comidas e não é muito barato como todos os restaurantes de hotéis da Islândia, mas como ele fica muito afastado de tudo, ter um restaurante por lá acaba ajudando muito. Na primeira vez jantei no restaurante e na segunda levei a minha própria comida. Se tiverem tempo aproveitem para visitar o museu que fica anexo ao restaurante, vale a pena para conhecer um pouco da história da fazenda.

One of our most amazing experiences in Iceland. Room had its own bathroom and was clean, but the star of the show is the friendly staff and the incredible Thorbergur exhibition. It was very immersive, surprisingly informative and far surpassed expectations. The best place to stay in the east! (Note - photos are from exhibition)
