Went with my fiance for 3 nights and it was terrific! The location is beautiful and very cozy cabin, plenty of room for us and the equipment was new and better than most cabins we have rented. Will definitely visit again.

Peccato perché è un bel campeggio. Le aree delle tende sono tenute bene, ci sono giochi per bambini ma i bagni e le docce sono veramente vecchi e sporchi. Una cosa molto positiva ( non so se ci sono anche in altri campeggi perché non l'ho visto) è un defibrillatore nella sala comune!!!

Camping très bien équipé dans un joli cadre. On regrette de n avoir eu aucun contact avec les propriétaires (payement sur application Parka) , préparez vous à cohabiter avec les mitches.

Reports of flies not exaggerated! Cannot stress enough that there are way too many - I’m not talking about the regular mosquitoes and midges you see at campsites. I’m talking swarms of flies, all over everything. Insect repellent does nothing, they just crawl all over your face and hair. Obviously this isn’t really the owners’ fault but I have to raise it because it’s disgusting, and hasn’t been a problem at any other campsite we’ve stayed at. Other than that it was great - amazing views, lots of history, and facilities are adequate, if a bit expensive for how basic it all is.

Great campsite that's not too popular. Common room with a single sink and a stove (only campsite where one could find an oven!) Indoor seating for over 20 people. Can get crowded but still better than many other sites. Showers included in the price. Comfy and clean toilets.

Camping is on the front parking during winter time even late April. No electricity available. There are toilets and one shower at this time of the year. Community room with little kitchen is nice. Unfortunately people do not clean up properly. The stove is a bit filthy. Rest is ok. Payment by online registration only.

Cuando visité este precioso lugar, en la primera semana de enero de 2023, no había ni rastro del camping, sólo una curiosa iglesia rodeada de un cementerio en un alto dominando un enorme lago completamente helado y cubierto de nieve, rodeado de montañas. Tuve la suerte de llegar amaneciendo. Un espectacular paisaje que me acompañará para siempre en mi memoria.

I am kinda biased regarding this camping site..

Pros:
Big clean kitchen
Uncomplicated check in
Cheap pricing (1650 per person without electricity)
Beautiful surrounding nature
Owner seems to be conscious about nature as he/she offers a wide range of recycling your trash - this is great!!

Cons:
Many showers were out of order, flooded
+ it is not possible to adjust the temperature of the water running in the shower
Old toilettes
FLIES & mosquitoes

I get that it is not the owners fault that the flies situation is crazy here right now..
But for me unfortunately it makes my stay less enjoyable.
If you want to stay here bring a hat net with you (don’t worry you will also need it in case you go to myvatn lake).
Suggestion for improvement: please install moscito nets in the shower room. There were so many flies in there as well

Fantastický kemp. Dostatečný počet toalet i sprch, vše bylo čisté. Sprchy s teplou vodou a bez poplatku. Velkou výhodou byla i kuchyňka (byl tam sporák, nádobí je nutné mít vlastní). V kempu je spousta místa a byl tam klid. Velmi dobrá lokace, zůstali jsme tam několik nocí ve stanu a podnikali výlety po okolí. Určitě doporučuju <3 !!!!

Amazing campsite and super friendly staff. Food provided was good, especially the cake! The views were incredible especially when in the middle of the lake on a kayak. Good campsite facilities too. Would recommend for any scout! Bring a mosquito face net in the summer, the flies are very persistent and annoying.

Molto bello e ma non del tutto attrezzato, niente lavanderia purtroppo nel campeggio e cucina con poche cose.
Per il resto molto carino e completo soprattutto per i ragazzi.

It is just right! In addition to the other reviews on clean facilities, useful facilities and children's play ground I would like to stress that owner is very kind, and extremely helpful. We ended up here as our rental car had a flat battery and the rental company have very sub-optimal support. We just called few locations in the area, an this guy immediately on his free evening drove to us an saved the car. And we were not even allowed to pay something for it. So kind. This is what makes a holiday memorable, just getting a warm welcome!

Drove here because of the closure of hjalli kjoss. Campsite ok but full of flies at the moment (19th july), a lot worse than the Myvatn area. Would have left immediately because of the flies but we arrived quite late. Without the flies this is a quiet, not crowded nice campsite with enough facilities, which is rare in Iceland. Pay with Parka. I have been here in august 2008 too, no flies then.
Hot showers included. Beware that the light in the shower building switches off after about 10-15 minutes without movement in the hallway.

Projeli jsme na Islandu jen pár kempů, ale tenhle byl rozhodně super. Má obrovsky rozlehlý pozemek, kde se s autem v klidu zašijete a budete mít soukromí. Součástí je jezero, ale i atrakce jako lezecká stěna, hřiště pro děti apod. Fajn na večerní procházky. Pěkné jsou společné prostory, kuchyňka sice není tak vybavená jako jinde (chybí nádobí a různé drobnosti), my jsme ale měli svoje, takže to šlo pořešit. Záchody i sprchy fajn a hlavně jich je více, což nebývá zvykem. Správci byli celkově moc příjemní, pomohli, poradili. Jediná otravná věc byly mušky, kterým se téměř nedalo vyhnout, ale ty jsou v létě i jinde na Islandu. Takže celkově vřele doporučuji. V okolí je spousta míst, kam můžete vyrazit a nám se kemp natolik zalíbil, že jsme se do něj nakonec ještě jednou vrátili.

Bellissimo campeggio scout. Il posto è affascinate ed è da visitare se siete scout o siete amici. Purtroppo mancano la lavatrice e asciugatrice essenziali in Islanda. Per il resto è immerso nel verde, all'interno di un parco nazionale e in rifà a un lago. Enorme e pieno di giochi per i bambini. A parte la lavanderia, tutto il resto dei servizi è perfetto.
