We booked a larger room as we were staying for a week and wanted some extra space. The room came with an opening balcony door, as far as I could tell the only one on our floor on our side of the building. We were greeted with magnificent views over water and towards mountains. The room was warm, and once we found our level of comfort the heat it was perfect.
The bathroom was clean, tidy and well equipped. The shower was amazing, the water felt fresh and the power was spot on (if I could have taken it home I would have).
The restraunt was comfortable and again the staff were faultless. In particular a young woman on our first couple nights was helpful and well informed on the menu. The chef was fantastic, able to cater for an unusual and difficult allergy. So friendly and great banter.
The breakfast on offer was an extra cost, however, it was packed with choice, hot and cold, sweet and savoury, it was perfect for us to sustain our efforts through the day as we were out and about on long days. We would return and will look for Guldsmeden hotels on our future travels.
