We traveled from Rome here to visit my husband’s best friend from his army days and owner of the restaurant. The drive is beautiful and this town is the beginning of the Tuscany region. On arrival you are transported to a slower and very natural way of life. Each home is built in the side of the mountain with very narrow roads and beautiful skyline views. Be prepared to worry if your car will fit through the streets, it will. Ceccottino is set in a corner of the square, with a beautiful entry. We dined outside under a portico that was built in 1061. We started lunch with a light Prosecco that was made nearby. Carpaccio, filet of sardines, duck and wild boar pate was our first course. Next, we had tagliatelle with wild boar ragu. The was pasta handmade that day and the wild boar was local. For the pasta course, we had a red wine that was light and refreshing. The restaurant owner, Alex, is a huge wine connoisseur. He has a huge selection of wine and his choice for lunch was delicious. Lunch was finished with the most delicate rabbit in a wine sauce that I have ever tasted. Had it not been rude, I would have asked for a second plate!!! We finished with tiramisu and a custard that was true to the original recipes and other worldly. If you get a chance to visit you should. The hospitality and food are second to none!!!!

Andati a Pitigliano per una gita ci siamo fermati in questo ristorante su consiglio di un signore che vende vino all' entrata del paese.
Menu stagionale, prezzi giusti e ottimo servizio anche attenti ai bambini (propietaria molto simpatica).

Concludo col dire che l'ambiente è di una tranquillità spiazzante, con quella musica in sottofondo ti senti quasi come se ti cullasse il tutto. Soddisfattissima, vi consiglio vivamente di andarci.
Ps. I dessert sono favolosi.
