Abbiamo visitato questo ristorante per le buone recensioni lette ma, una volta sul posto, abbiamo realizzato che il rapporto qualità prezzo non era quello che ci aspettavamo. Il locale è a circa 1 km e mezzo a piedi da P.zza della Signoria. Per nostra scelta abbiamo pranzato fuori ma, per chi siede sulle panche, la sistemazione è scomoda. Il cibo è buono, la carne ottima ma niente di eccezionalmente diverso rispetto alla media degli altri locali a Firenze. In tutta onestà il servizio non ci e’ piaciuto. Il cameriere dimenticava spesso ciò che gli si chiedeva e quando abbiamo chiesto un parere sul vino da consigliare, non ha mostrato competenza. Ha speso, tra l’altro non richiesta, qualche parola di troppo sul prezzo delle bottiglie e non sulle caratteristiche e gli abbinamenti con il cibo ordinato. Non si può consigliare “a seconda di quando si vuole spendere”. Non si fa così. Si può fare di più …. E meglio!

We had a fantastic dinner at Antico Ristoro di Cambia on our trip to Florence. There was plenty of room for our party of 7 individuals. We started with the tomato and buffalo mozzarella, artichoke salad, and cambi mix. Each was phenomenal. The waitress was able to accurately suggest the proper kilo amount of Florentine steak that allowed us to share with all of our group members. Even our non-regular red meat eaters enjoyed the steak it was so magnificent. For sides we had the roasted potatoes and the baked onion with Parmesan sauce. The potatoes were delicious but the onions were on a tier of side-dishes that we had never experienced before. Sweet, salty, and savory they were a perfect complement to the steak. Antico Ristoro di Cambia will have to be a regular stop whenever we are in Florence again.

One of the BEST spots to get Florentine steak!! Was recommended to me by a local many years ago and never disappoints. Top quality cuts, perfect texture, no smell. I always like to have their papa al pomodoro or ribolita soup as appetizer.
Tables are tight and often times you are seated on a stool but you forget all of that once the food comes out. Don’t miss out on this place!
