We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We had a terrace room on the first floor. The terrace is quite sizeable but I did not love the turf floor. I think they should replace it with tiles. The shower wasn't great, it was a bathtub with a small plastic wall thing. Other than those two points everything was excellent. Appreciated the abundance of free water and the complimentary mini bar. The included breakfast buffet was served in a beautiful room with a lot of variety, excellent coffee, lots of fresh fruit and delicious pastries, breads, cakes, etc. The Nutella pump for the pancakes looked fun even though I didn't try it. The service was excellent from all the staff. Location cannot be beat. It is on a quiet street about a 5-minute walk from the Duomo.

Short answer : I definitely will stay at Gran Duca Di York again if I come back to Milan. Go somewhere else if you are looking for high scale luxurious hotels. Gran Duca Di York is everything more than I would have expected for a 3-star hotel. First of all, staff are very nice, courteous and helpful. The breakfast is excellent with hot and cold food and pastries and excellent fresh fruits. The room offers all soft drinks and sparkling water or juice free . Evening Prosecco welcomes you every night.
The shower is roomy and nice. Bath robe and slippers for you to enjoy the room. The bed and blankets are very comfy and firm to my liking. This location is 5 min walk to the Duomo and metro. 10 min walk to the castle. And of course the shopping district is all close by.
