We have stayed here two other times and when we left we said we hope we get to come back yet again. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in the Cinque Terre. The rooms, quiet, relaxed elegance, terrace and hosts can't be beat. Gian knows exactly what customers need and the tone/approach are helpful and friendly while giving guests their space.

My fiancé and I stayed in La Mala for the first two nights of our 2 week tour of Italy. This was the perfect place to unwind after a long day of flights and trains. We were met at the train station with a smile and an umbrella and guided to the front door of La Mala. I am very grateful for this added service, because it is difficult to find places in Cinque Terre when you've only just arrived and not accustomed to the town.

The room was spacious and had a wonderful view of the town. The bed was comfortable and the windows were great for a cross breeze at night. Getting in and out during our stay was very easy and efficient.

Probably the cherry on top was the private balcony that La Mala has on the back of the property. Truly an experience you will not find elsewhere. I wish it had been warmer but we made the best of it and enjoyed wine on the balcony while the sunset. Highly recommend.
