Incroyable ... La grandeur, l'entretien, les bâtiments, nous avons été subjugués et les enfants conquis ... Pour accéder au cimetière, vous pouvez venir à pied depuis les monuments de Ohama Beach (sentier marqué entre sable / enrobé / chemin de terre, pensez à de bonnes chaussures !), ou utiliser le grand parking. Nous recommandons ce lieu gratuit comme un incontournable de la région !

L’ hommage rendu à ces héros est à la hauteur de leur exploit. Ce lieu est magnifiquement bien entretenu ; je conseille la visite gratuite fait par une conférencière. La visite est très émouvante et indispensable pour ne pas oublier que nous devons à ces hommes notre liberté d’aujourd’hui.
This tribute to the heroes is perfectly fitting for their achievements. The site, beautifully maintained, is well worth a visit, especially with the free guided tour led by a lecturer, which comes highly recommended. It is both moving and essential, reminding us that we owe our present-day freedom to these men.

This is a very well-kept cemetery. It is quite a long walk from the car park until you reach the burial grounds. It really shows how grateful the French are to the Americans for their help.

What can be said of this most solemn of hallowed ground. Absolutely pristine and beautiful, you will be proud of your tax dollars funding this.
I was here for he 80th commemorative of the dday landings a few days before the big events, so there was still some scaffolding and other works in progress around but nothing to obstructive.
Note: it's quite huge, so if you have mobility challenges plan ahead and bring your aid. There are bathrooms at the entrance but not inside the park, I suggest you plan this as well.

Next to he beach, overlooking gorgeous waters, this is the ultimate resting place. These boys never returned home, but they are comfortable in one of the most beautiful final resting places on earth.
May God bless these men and bless the United States of America. We may not be living up to the ideals these men fought and died for and atleast half of Americans have forgotten what true freedom means costs, but I have hope that the souls of these heroes will return to guide us again as America rediscovers it's soul. Amen. ????

Pour ne pas oublier ceux qui nous ont donné la liberté. Au dessus de la plage d Omaha repose une armée de jeunes soldats venus perdre la vie pour que nous soyons libre. Gratitude, respect et émotions vous accompagnerons dans ce lieu historique .

Très impressionnant. Assurez vous d'arriver bien à temps pour faire le tour du cimetière - idéalement par temps clair. Ne manquez pas l'exposition au visitor centre. Le tout est entièrement gratuit.

If you want an understanding of the price in blood young American men paid to liberate Europe and defeat Nazism, then this is one of the best places to come to find that understanding. Fittingly, it is a beautiful place in which the broken bodies of these heroes rest. Their silence shouts to those who will listen that freedom isn't free and that it is not purchased by the cowardly but by the brave.

Magnifique site où sont enterrés les soldats américains mort durant le débarquement. Nous avons pu assister à la descente des drapeaux. Un musée à l'entrée permet de comprendre le déroulement du débarquement.

It’s free to enter and I highly recommend coming here as an American. It’s a humbling experience to see the hero’s who died during WWII. They have a documentary playing in the hall and lots to learn. It’s also amazing to see the employees keeping this area clean and beautiful. It does get chilly during off season so bring a jacket or two. They have some areas blocked off but they’re sections you can walk to read the names of the soldiers.

Lieu de passage incontournable de souvenir et de mémoire.
Le cimetière est magnifiquement entretenu, l'atmosphère y est saisissante... Le mémorial (gratuit) est exceptionnel. La scénographie du lieu est parfaite, l'ambiance sur la fin du parcours de la visite appelle au recueillement en souvenir de ces héros tombés pour la Liberté.

C est un lieu qu il faut absolument voir pour rendre hommage à tous ces soldats souvent très jeunes qui ont participé au débarquement. Allez aussi voir le musée et montrez le aux enfants pour qu'ils comprennent que la guerre n' est pas la solution et que ceci ne se reproduise plus jamais. Merci à ces soldats !!
