Do yourself a favor and come eat at La Galettoire when you’re in Caen.
With a beautiful view of the nearby church, the patio experience is pleasant and relaxing - an occasion to enjoy the atmosphere of downtown Caen with all its charms.
The manager was kind, courteous and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the normand apéritif with cassis, a delectable pitcher of sweet local cider, an exquisite normand galette, finished off with a sweet crêpe topped with their own caramelized apple - all at an affordable price.
It was the clear highlight of our trip to Normandy - and I hope it’ll be yours too.

Avec une incroyable vue de l’église du quartier, la terrasse est très plaisante et une excellente occasion de profiter de l’ambiance du charmant centre ville.
Le gérant est charmant, courtois et connait bien son menu. Nous prîmes l’apéritif normand avec crême de cassis, un succulent pichet de cidre doux local, une délicieuse galette normande - le tout complété par une crêpe garnie des pommes caramélisées de la maison. Tout ça à un prix abordable en plus.
C’était le point fort de notre passage en Normandie - et nous espérons que ce sera le vôtre aussi.
