To stay at the Regent Petit France was a really special treat. It is a five star hotel with beautiful rooms, excellent amenities and a terrific breakfast. On top of it all, it could not be more centrally located in the old town of Strasbourg. If you want a high end hotel experience, you can’t go wrong at the Regent Petit France.

Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was disappointing. We were given a connecting room with very poor insulation, and we could hear everything from the room next door-including a baby crying throughout the night. The noise made it almost impossible to sleep or relax. We raised the issue with the staff, but sadly, they were not helpful and didn't offer any solution or room change. For the price and reputation, we expected a much more restful and accommodating experience. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you're looking for peace and quiet, there were also lots of ants in the room which is shown in my photos, the only good thing in the hotel is the staff at the bar and the quality of the food and drinks.

Arriving by car was frustrating—access is complicated, and we only learned after struggling that you need to Google the Marco Polo restaurant and call the hotel for an entry code. It would have been helpful to receive those instructions ahead of time.

The hotel also recommended what turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had in France. Their “spa access” includes only a sauna and showers—the jacuzzi was cold and unusable.

We came expecting a five-star experience, but between the poorly designed rooms, dirty bathrooms, disappointing restaurant recommendation, and lack of support for booking local activities, this stay has been a major letdown. This hotel was meant to be a highlight of our trip—it’s been the opposite. We honestly can’t wait to check out.
