A school trip to remember!

The location of the hotel was quite good, and that's where the positives end. Now come the negatives, so get ready, it might be long.

Firstly, there were cameras in the hallways, and if you left your room after 22h you had to pay a 150€ fine, but we'll get back to that later. There were also various other fines that would be charged for minor inconveniences.

There was a man (that we'll call "Hannes" for the sake of the story) looking at those cameras and was making some concerning moves during the 2 nights that we spent at the pris- hotel.
To set some context, on our first night we had been hearing some commotion outside our room around 22:30, after bed time. We then opened our door a few times because we wanted to see what was happening. We then saw people running across the hallway a couple of times, but decided that we didn't want to have any part in this and didn't step foot out of our room. Around 23:30 this man that had been looking at the cameras for probably the entire night came up and knocked at our door. He informed us that he saw us opening the doors on that cameras, to which we replied that we were just looking at what was happening outside of our room. Hannes denied this fact, blatantly lying and telling us that he DIDN'T see anyone else in the hallway, threatening us with a fine if we opened the door again. We accepted the threat with grace but were still concerned about the man that was clearly lying in front of us.
We then proceeded to look under our door to see what Hannes was doing. We saw him walking through the hallway every 15 minutes and got very concerned, because it was already midnight by this time. The first night ends with a weird encounter, where for some reason we see Hannes getting on his knees and putting his head on the floor to watch us from under our door. We were very concerned and scared so we decided to just go to bed, hoping that he wouldn't give us a fine for breathing air or something.
The second night was different to the first one, in many ways. It all starts at 22:00 where, after getting permission from our teachers, our class got together in one room to play a game. The only condition was that we wouldn't be too loud, and there was a teacher in the room next to the one we were in who later confirmed he didn't hear anything. The only semi-mistake we made was that we invited people from another school to the room to talk to them. When we decided to go back to our room at 23h something weird happened. Hannes was standing in front of our room, waiting for us. Why? I guess we'll never know. Even though we shouldn't have been in that room, we didn't make any noise and didn't disturb anyone. How long had that man been standing there?
Hannes then proceeded to threaten us with a 150€ fine if we touched our door again. He then decided to wake up our professor from his sleep and bring him to our room. Hannes then told our teacher that our behavior was unacceptable and lied that we had been looking under our door at the other people walking around. This was a direct contradiction to what he said before, when he said that we were the only ones opening our door.
That's about it for the service, this hotel is lucky that I can only go down to 1 star.

Secondly, when it comes to the food, I can't complain too much, it wasn't bad but it also wasn't good. The only thing you have to keep in mind is that in the evening you can take a starter or a desert, not both. I guess they don't want us getting fat or something.

Thirdly, the rooms themselves looked good, but I'm not too sure if that's the only thing they care about. It looked like all the rooms were cheaply renovated and they wanted you to accidentally break something so that you'd have to pay for it.

In conclusion, the hotel is not good, but if you visit it on a day where Hannes isn't working it might only be below average. The only saving grace is that it's in a very good location. That technically makes sense because it looks like they want us to stay out of the hotel, but if we do that we get fined...

Le service était tout simplement inacceptable. Il nous était interdit de sortir de notre chambre après 22h, ou même d’ouvrir la porte après ce couvre-feu. Un employé, qui nous a vu via une caméra positionnée en face de notre porte, est monté jusqu’à notre chambre pour nous prévenir qu’une amende de 150 € nous serait infligée si nous ouvrions encore la porte. Ce même employé a ensuite fait des rondes pendant 15 à 20 minutes à notre étage pour vérifier si nous l’ouvrions à nouveau. Cet établissement, à cause de ces nombreuses restrictions, ressemble plus à une prison qu’à une auberge…
Les chambres étaient assez convenables avec une bonne hygiène; cependant il y avait une étiquette de vêtement collé au mur. Les repas étaient bons (pour une auberge), au moins ça…
En conclusion, bien que l’auberge soit correcte en soi, le service et les règles extrêmement strictes, accompagnées de sanctions, ont empêché de profiter pleinement de notre court séjour à Strasbourg. Je déconseille vivement cet établissement.

Nachts kann man kaum schlafen, wegen der Hitze und es kommen andauernd laute Geräusche vom Fluhr. Man wird gestalked über Kameras. Nicht für Schüler zu empfelen, da das Personal einem Nichts durchgehen lässt. Man wird konstant bedroht eine hohe Geldsumme zu bezahlen bei jeder kleinsten Sache. Das Hostel wird versuchen diese ERLICHE Rezension zu löschen, da hier keine Kritik erwünscht ist. Das Hostel sollte die Kritik annehmen und sollte probieren den Aufenthalt so gut wie möglich zu gestalten. Kuss und Gruss.

Nous avons été très déçus par notre séjour. Après 22h, il nous était interdit de quitter notre chambre, ce qui était très contraignant. Des caméras nous surveillaient, et on nous a menacés d’une amende si nous sortions après cette heure. Cela nous a mis très mal à l’aise et ne correspond pas du tout à ce que l’on attend d’un hôtel. Je ne recommande pas cet établissement à ceux qui recherchent un séjour paisible et respectueux.

Da war ein Typ der um 11 Uhr Nachts unter meine Tür geglotzt hatt, später stellte sich heraus dass es ein Security Mann vom Hostel war. Sehr respektlos und pervers hauptsächlich wenn man bedenkt dass dort nur Jugendliche schlafen.
