LE GRAND HÔTEL ^{* * *}

Das Hotel liegt direkt gegenüber vom Bahnhof, fussläufig zur Altstadt. Die (nicht besonders großen) Zimmer sind renoviert, die Bäder ganz neu, alles ist supersauber und sehr funktionell, mit Klimaanlage. Minibar gibt es keine (mehr), dafür in der Lobby Verkaufsautomaten für Getränke und Snacks sowie (bei der Hitze superangenehm) kostenloses Wasser mit Zitronen. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig, die Produkte wirklich von guter Qualität, viele Teesorten zur Auswahl. Das Gepäck kann man nach dem Check Out kostenlos in Schließfächern unterstellen. Einziger Nachteil der strategischen Lage: Wegen des Autoverkehrs und des Lieferbetriebs kann man nur bei geschlossenem Fenster schlafen - aber dann bleibt der Lärm auch wirklich draußen.

Bon hôtel localisé face a la gare de Strasbourg. Petit déjeuner inclus qui est un vrai plus. Équipement de la chambre à revoir, un peu vieillot. Mais équipe d’accueil sympathique.

Located very close to train station. Walking distance to places of interest. Facilities and room with modern deco.

Just a minute across the park from the central train station. Good security: press the door bell and the staff at reception open the sliding door promptly.
We stayed here the night before, and the night after, our trip to Europa Park (Eurostar from London, with a transfer in Paris, direct to Strasbourg).
A smooth check-in except for a minor glitch a few days before with credit card pre-authorisation (may have been a card issuer problem as we were in the UK and the charge authorisation coming from France). Solved by staff over the phone and paying upfront.
We had a room on the 5th floor overlooking the park and station.

Good climate control during heatwave hitting 29°C outside.
Very good breakfast selection with tasty espresso - it's France; it has to be good coffee!
Our room on the way back was a newly renovated one on the 4th floor but it faced the side street, not the park. It was a nice room too.
Both rooms had very comfortable beds and pillows. The shower was great.
We used their baggage locker to store our luggage whilst we spent the day exploring town. Easy walk into town to see sights including the gorgeous cathedral; or catch the H bus at the train station to get to the EU parliament and nearby Orangie park (all recommended).
Tip: if coming from abroad including uk, pack a short multiple plug extension card so that you can fit an adapter to it and plug all your electronics into your extension's sockets -- the USB chargers are too heavy to stay fitted in the wall sockets with an adapter... as we discovered!

All in all great value for a great stay.
