Auf dem Platz Marché Gayot wohl das Highlight. Hier gehen wir immer wieder sehr gerne hin. Reservierung per Telefon möglich und absolut erforderlich. Das Restaurant öffnet um 19 Uhr und sehr schnell sind alle Tische besetzt von Leuten, die reserviert haben. Gute, freundlicher und schneller Service. Die Salatvorspeisen sind sehr gut und die Hauptgerichte sind einfach ein Gedicht. Der Blick auf den Platz und die Atmosphäre sind zu 100% stimmig.

We ate an al-fresco lunch at this excellent restaurant in the cathedral quarter. The hearty Alsacienne food they serve is ideal for refuelling after some heavy-duty sightseeing, with tables out in the picturesque Place du Marché Gayot. My Filet de Bouef au Pointe vert was superb; without doubt, one of the tastiest steaks I have ever had with the meat perfectly cooked medium-rare, well charred outside and perfectly seasoned. The accompaniments of pommes dauphinous and ratatouille were equally tasty. Z was equally taken with her Blanquette d'agneau a l'estragon et pleurotes, a creamy lamb stew flavoured with tarragon and oyster mushrooms served on spätzele - a type of roasted pasta. Very yummy and not a morsel remained, although that meant no room for dessert.
Service was quick and friendly, and the meal including a couple of drinks was good value at less than €40 pp.
