Très bel endroit où nous ne sommes jamais déçu. Le chef est créatif, c’est bon, c’est même très bon. Nous avons testé beaucoup de restaurants à Bayeux et L’alcove est sans conteste le meilleur rapport qualité prix. Bravo continuez les récompenses devraient arriver !

We had dinner here on May 14, 2025. The food was very good as was the service. The server could have been a little less rushed and more friendly to make the meal more memorable. The food, while very good, was less so than other restaurants in Bayeux.

Everything about our lunch at L'Alcove was delightful. The ambience was warm and informal. The staff was gracious and very helpful. The food was delicious. I had the eggplant tart, which was exceptional. My husband ordered the roasted lobster, which was also outstanding. This is a restaurant not to be missed.

The lobster melon appetizer was unusual but very good.

I felt compelled to write this review because of the glowing ratings and positive reviews this restaurant has received, but my experience was far from impressive. I can only assume there’s been a change in the chef or kitchen staff, as the food was a major letdown. Every dish suffered from a serious lack of balance, and it felt like a disservice to what could have been high-quality ingredients.
For example, the asparagus was overcooked and drowned in an overwhelmingly heavy lemon-vinegar sauce that completely masked its natural flavor. Similarly, the meat was poorly cooked and smothered in an excessive amount of tangy sauce, making it nearly inedible. It’s hard to understand how a restaurant with such high ratings could serve dishes this carelessly prepared. The atmosphere and service were decent, but the food is the heart of any dining experience, and this fell short. I hope they address these issues,m. If not, the Bib Gourmand evaluation needs to be reconsidered

Lovely restaurant in busy spot right opposite the cathedral. We pre-booked our table of 6, which was just as well as it was not taking walk ins on the day we visited. Very friendly welcome. Great menu selection and fabulous tasting dishes presented in a fine dining style. Everyone of our party thoroughly enjoyed their dishes. Highly recommend.

Accueil très chaleureux malgré un petit retard. Une table de 4 nous a été proposée pour 2, très agréable. Service aimable, rapide mais pas pressant. Le menu du jour : excellent rapport qualité /prix. Présentation des plats recherchée et mariage des viandes et des légumes idéal. Cuisson parfaite des viandes et choix des accompagnements originaux. Le conseil pour les boissons est judicieux et réussi.
Une excellente table pour la 3ème fois dans une simplicité de classe.
À recommander chaudement.
